| Quote ="Gordon Gekko"Couldn't agree more. Seems pointless having a good youth policy if you ain't gonna play them and i'm frankly sick to death of some of the ridiculous comments on here about Hall not being good enough, or he can't tackle, or he need to play reserves to learn his trade.
The kid is ready now for S/L end of.'"
I sort of agree with you, but the fact is that G Horne played better last season at centre, so he has started there this season (and looked good), Hall has to earn his place, this should start on Friday if Bryne is out.
Hall will get chances this year and he must take them.
The inclusion of Burnett and Briscoe this season shows that Agar is preapred to give youth players a chance.

That kind of depends on whether you see a centre as a primarily defensive position or an attacking option. Horne was much better in defence, but absolutely [imiles[/i behind in attack.
Personally I prefer my centres to be attacking options, hence I prefer Hall over Horne.

| Its got to be Hall, even if Bryne is 90% whats the point in riskin a player. Hopefully Hall will take his chance and we will have a battle royal for the back positions like we are creating for the forwards. Halls positioning looked good at Leeds in the friendly and he can catch the ball and could be devasting in broken field or following up Horne/Thorman/Radfords kicks

| Isnt it just the HDM and their slap dash reporting saying Thorman will play there that has confused issues here. If the HDM had never reported it (baed on him moving there for 5 mins v Celtic) we would all be in agreement that Hall will play if Byrne isnt fit wouldnt we?

| Hall for FB...end of.
Hall is the only outside back other than Briscoe who looks as though he can create something from nothing...he's a natural attacking player and should be playing!

| Hall at fullback?
Seen him play there a few times and thought he was terrible to be honest. Just don't see him as a full-back at all.
As much as I wouldn't want to split the half-back pairing up, I think it would be a much better option to have either Horney or Thorman at FB than anyone else at the club. I'd go with Horne, as Thorman is our play-maker. Washy, Hall or Berro at stand-off (if Berro, Houghton at hooker).
Catalans are a very good side who break the line a lot.

That said i dont think they break the line all that much as most of their tries come from inside 20 meters its very rare you see Catalans score from long distance.

Like when? Hall is another Hull player for the fans love to target, Tom Briscoe makes a few mistakes but nobody mentions it, as soon as Hall does everyone is on his back. I watched hall a bit last season and in pre-season and looked pretty good there, esp going forward, caused Leeds alot of problems, be it only a friendly.
To break up our halfback partenship after a prmising start would be a very stupid move IMO, surley we have learnt from last season?

They have some great backs in Mogg, Bell, Greenshields, Pelo and Bosc. plenty of skill and power, they have a few out int he forwards and might not have a recognised hooker playing, I think like the Wigan game we can beat them in the forwards.

I agree about a forward game is probably our best way of beating them as like Celtic their forwards are not that mobile especially Ferriol and Croker.

| Okay how about this daft combo, have Calderwood to F/B & Hall to pair up with Horne on the wing
Seriously though, it's got to be Hall at F/B hasn't it?

But then again, we generally look strong when defending our own line. The only problem we seem to have is defending kicks to the corner so we will have to put a lot of pressure on Bosc.
Also, if Byrne is out and Hall doesnt play fullback then it would confirm the suspision I have that Agar has something against him. Maybe Agar came onto him but Hall turned him down as he liked women

He had a good game against Wire I thought, everybody thought Quins were light in the hooking dept last season and Randall had a stormer.
Biggest danger is when Cats offload and then shift it wide, defence will be the key for us.

We have to win the collision and the floor to slow them down, wire didn't do that their defence was all over the place.

Hopefully our light weight pack in comparison will be fitter, meaning we need to try and play the game as quick as possible to tire them out and make them work harder to get off the floor etc.
