Signing a full back and moving Tansey into the halfs would be preferable to signing Sammut, unless we signed Sammut to play full back.

i think were looking at Phelps and if we need cover at 6 or 7 we`ll use either Tansey or Westerman.

WTF? Just re-name this thread instead because that's what this is. Most of the posts on here are wishes rather than rumours, Isn't there only Westerman who has actually been mentioned on here and signed, it'd be a pretty crap thread if you had your way.

Why would it ?? Sammut is a quality half back, Tansey isn't.

We need a quality HB that can also play 9 in case Long and Horne were ever available for the same match.

We have ZERO quality cover at HB. Washbrook, Tansey, Turner, Berrigan etc... have all proved too many times that they're not good enough there.

Sammut would be a brilliant signing and absolutely the quality and type of player that we need.

Tansey only played 1 game in the halves IIRC? Even then he was still expected to defend at FB. The others i completely agree.

I think that signing a player like Sammut could make a huge difference to our season. If we go with what we have, I can't see much better than 6-8 in SL but with Sammut, we could be genuine top four challengers.

Since when? I would be happy if Sammut signed but I think some people are going way over the top on this, why would sammut be such a 'brilliant signing and absolute the quality we need?

He's a decent player and he done a decent job at Crusaders let's not go overboard with it though.

Sammut is not good enough to take any team from 8th to the top 4. You are vastly over-rating him. He'd be a good addition, not a magician.

As others have said I`d rather have Witt than Sammut.
Been told he may be announced on Monday though !

And Rovelli was to be announced a few weeks back.

Hence the "may" be announced . I don`t rate him ,very lightweight .

lets sign a young english halfback either from super league or championships, leave the quota free for any top players who may come available.

But would Sammut count on overseas quota? I don't think so!!

Sammut ranks up there with Tim Smith and Michael Witt as amongst the worst defenders to have played the game.
