There seems to be no top class halfbacks available, so the more I think about it the better the move sounds.

The club gets some slack, but it is obvious that the club are making the best efforts to sign players and pay money for them.

What about raynor and king? And yeaman (probably), dowes (likely) and radford all signing on for reduced amounts

the problem with signing a halfback doesn't seem to be how much is left on the cap but more so who is available. even on the rumour thread the best we have come up with is luke robinson (contracted) and a couple of aussies who would be a costly gamble

Well if signing a class hooker fills our void of struggling for a world class outside back then i think it's a perfect move.

Berro showed towards the end of the year that even with a half fit Long and Horne inside of him he has the ability to damage teams in the centres. Really like the look of this move if it comes off.

Would be a very positive move and I cant see how it changes our search for a half back.

It does however as you state mean that Berro's future is now seen in the centre thus strengthening our back line IMO.

Think this may well be a case of number 1 priority been half back cover and a prop.
Number 2 priority been opportunities that arise that will strengthen us but that we dont go looking for.

I'd think Diskin will be under priority number 2.

Quite. The priority will not have changed but if opportunity to sign players to strengthen the squad comes along then it would be foolish not to act.

The fact that signing one playing can strengthen 2 positions is a bonus!

Then take off money for contract upgrades.

Don't think Yeaman or Radford have been reduced and if so not by much.

I think we have room to bring in two players and believe we will.

As much as i would like us to sign Diskin i cannot see it happening, if we only have a limited amount of cap left available i can`t see us sigining players of the calibre of Diskin, i think we will make a couple of signings but i think they will be low key.

Saying on the Leeds forum that Diskin has had an offer from Northampton rugby union,, he did mention on his tweets that he had been there for the day, cant see any other reason why you would want to go there tbh

I recently heard Bradford offered similar to us, which only reinforces him staying IMO. Think it may well be a case of us putting right a wrong in his market worth and he might well be realising it now too.

Looks like there's going to be some competition for the centre spots next season.

Trials are taking part as we speak...The first test is to establish if the player knows/understands what a winger is, the second test is to establish if they can pass to the winger
