It is an odd choice indeed. Moore has been nowt but trouble at a number of clubs and I don't think he's any better a player than Lunt.

Hasnt played a game as yet so you would expect some clause in his contract. Also his salary wont even be on the cap so no biggies getting rid imo

If we have the cap-space available then I'd definitely approach him. Quality player and I don't understand how he isn't getting a game at Hudds. Also, it'll be better for us if Houghton can get spelled rather than playing 80 week-in week-out.

He'll be cheaper and they've got plenty of acting half type players so Moore is only coming in as cover. Reckon it's just a good bit of business for Hudds esp as Moore did ok for them when he was there.

why wouldn't his salary be on the cap?

Well since Frosties was adamant that Ellis had signed for Leeds back in January I tend to take rumours about their signings with a pinch of salt.

However, it's unlikely we'll go for him because I doubt that we have the capspace left.

I don't see how people think that people is not included in the cap just because they are injured.
Even if you deregister a player they are still count on the cap I think

I've not got it from Frosties. I was told yesterday by someone very close to the Leeds Rhinos setup, that they've signed him and he was introduced to the squad yesterday.

I think there might be an exclusion if they haven't played a competitive game. Either way, it would seem rather unfair to the player concerned.

Giants now play with a smaller ball playing 13 so it is more important that the 9 can defend. also the way we play needs a 9 who can deliver a faster, longer and more accurate pass to 1st receiver. On all those counts Moore > Lunt. Lunt's defence this year in 1st team and 20s has been disappointing. Plus Robbo can comfortably do 60 / 65 mins and Lunt wanted more game time than 15 / 20 mins.

Better for the Giants and better for Lunt. Win win.

Also the CEO has indicated that the switch frees up cap space.

No, he has said on twitter this afternoon that his future is not sorted yet so can not comment on any rumours.

Smart bit of business by the giants board! Lunt has had his own issues this year and was dropped as disciplinary-due to tommy lees good form he hasn't made it back in the squad- and he hasn't hit the form before his injury- loan out Lunt on a massive wage get Moore in on a much lower wage and free up cap money to sign Eden and fairbank on longer term deals so Nathan brown can't poach them for saints.

Season long loan apparently and unlikely to be wanted/needed back at Hudds next year. Apparently McShane may be injured which is why Leeds want Lunt?

I thought it was Burrow that could be injured? Apparently he's been at the hospital for scans on his jaw according to the Leeds board.

Well I'm in shock, where did that come from?

I thought a player went on the salary cap once he was registered to the squad. He's been getting paid since october so i just assumed his money would already be part of the cap

Technically his salary only counts on the cap once he's played a salary cap relevant game. A pre-season friendly doesn't count, so theoretically his salary hasn't gone against our cap limit yet. The problem is that as soon as he plays one cap relevant game his salary counts in full even if that's the only game he plays all season, so we can't use the money elsewhere as it's 'spoken for' so to speak.
