All I would say about Tomkins is that he did at times play a bit off the cuff and squander posession a fair bit. Don't get me wrong he is a cracking prospect especially when running at the line but maybe Smith is just nurturing him along. Myler suffered because neither acting half felt like passing the ball left much in the last game - something I hope is rectified this time around.

Fox is better at running it out from his own line though for a start.

I'm not sure I agree with that - Fox makes good yards before he is tackled but Tom takes an awful lot of stopping by would-be tacklers.

IIRC he scored a couple on his international debut last season against better opposition than Wales so it'll be interesting to see how Briscoe does against similar opposition.
