We are not showing the enthusiasm and commitment we showed in the first 5 games.
We haven't done for 4 games now but then some say we are over reacting  |

We didn't do that much different in the first 5 games. The big difference was that we were fresh after a good pre-season and the players were full of spirit, confidence and enthusiasm but this can only take you so far. It only takes couple of defeats and all of that spirit fades away and we are left with the basic facts that we have an average squad with a less than average coach
We still had a lack of quality in the squad but all of those things mentioned above and a little bit of luck were the difference between winning and losing.
The fact still remains that we have a mid-table squad and that will be reflected in the SL table after 27 games. |

You see it that way. I see it differently.
I firmly believe we have the players good enough to be challenging near the top IF they show the effort and commitment required. They did in the first 5 games. Just look at the tries we scored in those games again and we had players backing up and supporting each other.
They are not doing that now.
We haven't been beaten by teams with better quality. We have been beaten by teams with more commitment.
It was the same last season and it's starting again this season  |

Effort alone is not enough. We have an embarrassing lack of quality in crucial parts of our squad. It is just not possible to have 17 players giving 110% effort and playing to their full potential for 27 games.
Quality is the difference between the middle and the top of SL and that is why we will finish in the middle. |

Went to watch Myton today and had a bit of a conflab with a trusty source. There is no player issue at Hull and not quite the trouble people are speculating. But, there is a problem brewing in the battle for supremecy between Agar and Sharp, it would seem Sharp has ambitions.
