| I've watched Carlos play a lot this year, and I think he has had a great year of development.
He learnt to play in the Warriors under 20s, and even though that was a great side, the style of play was basically for the whole side to offload and break tackles and keep the ball alive - so it wasn't a team where playmakers got to organise much.
This year at the Knights he signed in the hope of playing 5/8, which he wasn't getting to do at the Warriors.
He took his opportunities in the off season and was one of the best trainers at the club.
He was injured during 9s in Auckland during the pre season and didn't get to play in the early rounds in reserve grade, but as soon as he got the chance to play he showed he has worked on his kicking skills and organising skills. He has basically replaced Michael Dobson in the Knights reserve grade as the main playmaker, and he isn't too different in those skills, but is a far better athlete and defender than Dobson.
He got his chance in firstgrade when Mullen was injured, and although he is no Mullen, I thought he went very well and improved every game. He is also playing much better now that he is back in reserve grade. In firstgrade he was making 20-30 tackles a game and missing very few, going for some good runs, and his kicking game was good and improved every game.
As far as I can see he is an outstanding athlete with no long term injuries, and he has been training hard and working hard on his skills since he joined the Knights.
I don't know why we are letting him go, except maybe because we just signed the NSW halfback and we have the best junior halves in the world (Cogger and Lamb) hitting reserve grade next year, and we have them signed for 4 years.

Surely if we sign Michaels we don't keep Yeaman, I just hope this these signings are due to our rumoured outside backs signings have fell through.
We will have
Talanoa
Michaels
Mini
Pritchard
Carlos
That would leave us with 2 non fed places.
I'd hope we are looking to reduce our overseas players and improve the quality of them.'"
There just isn't the talent flow from NRL to SL any more, you can only go for the players closing in on retirement or those that aren't very good. Or we could keep a space free on the off chance a superstar puts their goolies in a dogs mouth or has a p1ss in their own.

Roopy is usually well balanced with his appraisal so if we managed to sign him it would look like a great recruitment.

| Knights coach, Rick Stone, is saying Carlos is under contract for next year.
I have to say, I was surprized to hear he might be going.
We have two old and injury prone halves for next year, and young Carlos seems to be a very good backup for them.
Quote from Stone.
"Meanwhile, Stone played down speculation linking back-up five-eighth Carlos Tuimavave to English Super League club Hull.
Tuimavave, who has played four NRL games for the Knights, is in the first year of a two-year contract, but there were reports on Wednesday that Hull have offered the 23-year-old former Warriors utility a three-year deal.
‘‘Obviously Carlos is a player who has played some first grade with us this year, and he’s been good for us. Obviously he’s not playing in the main side at the moment with our first-choice halves [Jarrod Mullen and Tyrone Roberts back in the team and back healthy,’’ he said.
‘‘At the moment he’s at the Knights for this year and next year, and if we hear anything different, we’ll let you know.’’

Dean & HTW are meant to be going full time next season, so that will be a massive step up for them, we still could do with a more established pivot within the squad, look what it's leaving us with now with Leon out, if sneyd was to get injured we would be snookered pal.

Stone`s quote above is hardly convincing though is it, i`ve lost count the amount of times i`ve heard he is currently contracted to us for next year only to find out the player has moved on a few days later

We shouldn't be signing an expensive overseas players just as a back up, along with the two mentioned we have Abdul who can step in for the odd game.

| How do we know he's expensive? & Leon been out is not the odd game its possible it will be the whole play offs mate, imho it's better to gain an experienced (ish) player then look to just sling in youth that aren't in full time. Plus Reece is injured. So you've got to take onboard our youth having knocks as well.

| I wouldn't see this as a bad signing at all particularly if Pryce is going to struggle fitness wise as seems the case.
Incidentally I think Jordan's surname is spelt [size=120Abdul[u l[/u[/size not Abdul just as a point of order ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

As back ups for the odd game yes, I don't thin signing a young inexperienced half on a 3 year deal is the best for their devlopment either.

Warrington have not recruited well in this area & relied on youth.

They haven't really, they have used myler, bridge, Ratchford and O Brian, none if them are young or inexperienced. Patton is the only one who is young and he has only played a few games.
The problem Warrington have had if that none of them are a Briers type player, we have that in Sneyd.
Say he signs for 3 years and with Sneyd still having 3 years left, what would you think if you were either of the young halfs?
This isn't the type of signing we need and certainly not a position we are desperate in.

| I'm with Dave K on this. At some point in the near future HTW and Dean will need to get some game time at senior level to continue their development. Bringing in another young half on a long deal may block that development.

if I was Reece or Harry I would just be concentrating on myself & getting my body ready for going full time, it's a big step up & one I admire the club for not rushing these future stars, I would learn in that environment from the likes of pryce mini & Ellis who have been around for a long time, mini is at county road first in a morning & last to leave, a true professional in every sense, I would also take my chance as & when it comes, even though we sign a journey man for 3 years what's to say he will see this contract out.

I agree, there both still young, how many 6/7`s do we see in superleague that are under 20 years of age, going out on dual reg or loan in league 1 or 2 will help them both tremendously, in a couple of years they might well be ready and hopefully wearing the black and white for years to come, wouldn`t it be great to have a couple of home bred halbacks playing for the mighty FC

To right & they have the right attributes to go on to the top & hopefully stay at FC on long deals, by the time sneyds deal & if this Carlos T signs & sees out a 3 year deal, they would be 22-23 & plenty of years in front of them.

| Next year they will be both the same age as Logan and Abdull are this year, so I'd expect them one of them to play 5-7 games next year which should cover injuries.
I wouldn't mind if we were signing chris Sandor or Chase, but this rumoured signing is a reserve grade player.

Why? We're will they go with all their experience? The clubs putting them full time for 2016, is that not investing in youth? Do you think that their both ready for SL?
That's the sort of attitude we don't want at the club mate, if I can't play I'm off! We need a good healthy squad & we need kids to learn their trade & not be slung in the deep end with no armbands.

Having watched the 19s a few times despite Dean being the better player this year I would say that HTW is ready for the odd game at SL next year, if we hold them back for reserve overseas players then like Connor Robinson and James Cunningham they will leave for either championship clubs or another SL club.

| Just looked at some players from the top teams, Liam Sutcliff, George Williams and Mark Percival are all years older than the two mentioned and all gave players around 50 games for their clubs, so they must have been give a few games when they were the same age as our young halfs.
Maybe Pearson is right about our academy.

Radders & co are trying to nurture them for the future, they will get their chances, either through form (lack of in 1st choice) injury or when they are seen as ready, they are just not ready to play regular SL especially now we have a chance of relegation, it's not like we are a desperate club & need to play them, it's been a position we've struggled for for longer then I can remember, why do we want to rush it. You want 4 or 5 players who can play these roles within your squad, with the next batch coming through, so when or if sneyd & other 1st choice go, Reece & HTW take top spots with next batch in their shoes, it's hopefully going to be a big conveyor belt, through our own systems.
