You can listen. You don't have to agree. Part of the role of CEO is to look at the bigger picture. The downsides of signing Cooke far outweigh any possible benefits. In fact I'm struggling to think of a single positive aspect of the deal.


As a general rule (no pun intended) I'd agree. However, in this particular case Rule has made his position very clear indeed. I also have difficulty believing that Agar is stupid enough to want a washed-up troublemaker in the squad, no matter how cheap he would be.

This is the point. Leaving to one side the circumstances of him leaving the club to start with, his chequered stint at Rovers, Rule's public stance and what sort of price tag he'd come with, the most relevant point is that he doesn't now deliver on the pitch and IMO is not right physically or mentally to add value to a club in the top half of SL.

People are so convinced by the Cooke rumour because he has been telling people personally that he has been offered a deal by Hull, he is either just having a laugh or just deluded and actually believes it, either way though I'm sure he won't have been offered one, Rule may be a lot of things but he is not stupid and is the king of spin, he wouldn't make himself look stupid.
