I personally think I can personally take the morale high ground, having no part in the above incident. I can quite confidently say not one of your players or any player for that matter would be cheered off injured.
I grew up on Bransholme and had friends on Preston Road/Greatfield/Sutton Trust etc. This type of behaviour doesn't surprise me.

Get a grip. Have you ever seen a full stand - of any club - cheer an injury to a player before?

Come on Wormy, It wasn't the full stand.
I wouldn't even say it was the majority.

And the gormers all chose Rovers and those with integrity and decency uniformly chose Hull? I'm sure you personally wouldn't stoop to this, but you can't seriously suggest that the clubs draw their fans from fundamentally different demographics. Well, perhaps you can, free country more or less, I suppose.

but thats like saying that because i knew someone who lived down Anlaby Road who killed his mother in law, that all West Hullers are Mother in law killing basts,
a Hull fan threw a bottle on today, not as bad as cheering an injured player i agree, but does it make fans of Hull fc bottle throwers?

Nobody to the left of me cheered, it was all to the right and I'm pretty much on the half way line.
Even when NCP is at it's loudest - alot of the stand are quiet, I'd say it was around 300 fans give or take bearing in mind you can hear Pedro and about 30 people around him clearly from the Roger Millward stand when they are starting chants.

Perhaps you're a little deaf in your left ear - it is stone, of course? Right across the East stand - you can add a "0" to your estimate.

Buy the DVD from the club shop, might be easily estimated by how many fans punch the air? Like I said, I've heard louder from Pedro and his merry men. 300 is Generous.
Not a single soul to my left cheered; Not even in the south stand (All game)

No and it didn't happen yesterday either,
As i posted on the Longy thread a lot of us applauded him off.
And to be fair IF people knew how serious the injury was(we couldn't tell when he walked off tbh) then I'm 100% sure everybody would have applauded him as the majority of fans recognise what a great servant to the British game Longy has been.

I wasn't, me and the missus stand towards the scoreboard end of the east and the response was one of disgust at the idiots cheering Longs injury. I do recall some of your morons cheering an injury to Briscoe and quite a few when Cockayne got laid out with head shot. Whoever the player is, they have the courage to take the field and play this tough sport and should be respected for that, not jeered when injured.

Here i am!!!
I'll put my hands up and all credit to the users of the 'sig fodder' i've provided.....
Credit where it's due, Green had a good game on Sunday. If I may be a little critical, I would say that neither HKR halfback really put their stamp on the game until Sean Long went off. Dobson's kicking was poor IMO and Green did kick one out on the full IIRC. I still don't rate him as a player and may well be proved wrong but when he did get into the game on Sunday he was very good. This was highlighted by his break for Briscoe's try.
As I said, credit where it's due and I hold my hands up on this occasion!!

Though i do understand your point, i also think there is a world of difference between the two incident.
Cheering a player that gets hit and stays down momentarily is initially fun, harmless and gets the crown going. When it is clear that the player is injured and stays down is when the situation changes and, most of the time, crowds will fall silent in the hope the the said player is ok. It is then common practice to applaude the player when he leaves the pitch to show support.
I thought cheering all the way through this incident was fairly poor from a large number of Rovers supporters on Sunday and was not happy about them doing it when Longy was helped from the field.
That said, it was not clearly ALL of the Rovers fans, so to label them ALL scum or tarnish them all with the same brush is wrong IMO. Also, emotions can tend to run a little higher in the derby games and maybe those fans wouldn't have cheered a Sean Long injury if he played for Sts (doesn't make it right).
Singing a song about Cookie (or any other player) is IMO completely different. Nobody is actually going to kill Paul Cooke and I don't think anyone really wants him to die but it's just a song (tasteless maybe) which someone has thought up, that worked and some fans went with it. Kind of like singing 'Wash your mouth out, son', I don't think anyone is genuinely going to get a gun and shoot the FC/Rovers scum but it's a song that works and fans go with it.
As I said, i am not condoning either incident but cheering a serious injury, which may possibly end Longy's career, is the worst offence of the two in my book. But hey, we don't need to hold a grudge. My Rovers fan friend are now my friends again until derby day next year when we hate each other for one day. That's what makes this sport extra special and why it's NOT football!!
