it's a big shame if we have to debate who's better, Wilkes or Bailey! Neither of them are anything to get excited about.

But did you even check the errors and missed tackles stat? Every season Wilkes makes double the amount of errors and misses twice as many tackles.
At least check ALL your stats before you try to parade them triumphantly.

Wilkes made double the amount of errors because he played double the amount of games, you cretin! On your prior post you dismiss stats as meaningless, and on your very next one it is your cast iron evidence! 10 out of 10 for consistency! The very fact that Wilkes plays almost every game, compared to the fact that Bailey barely manages 50% show the value of each. I don't even particularly rate Wilkes, but see his value to any side much higher than Baileys.

Bailey does not play every game as he is in a much better squad. If I had to choose i'd go for Bailey tbh.

Check the archives Paul, almost every large period of time he's missed is due to injury.

IMO, neither of them are even close to what we need. I really hope that there are a couple of forwards out there who are just dying to join Agar's revolution because our pack will look very thin without them.

A couple of quality forwards for next season could really be the difference between competing towards the top of SL or yet another season of mediocrity.

Are any of our academy forwards really ready for SL? I don't know enough about Crooks, Aldous, Kent etc.. to have any opinion but I would imagine that they're still a little young to be relied on for a season of SL.

Why not compare one of the other 3 seasons out of the last 4, to truly back up your argument. We both know why you've not done this.

I know. I have seen a lot of Leeds in recent years as my wife is a Rhino and I was going with her a lot when Hull wasn't playing. I have seen a real mixture from him but when he gets it right he is a real handful.

I'd prefer someone better than both of them and if not then maybe we go with Ogre, Moa, Radford and Dowes with the youngsters providing the 5th prop.

If that's the case we will need to split Moa and Ogre to ensure we don't have Radford/Dowes on at the same time imo.

Wilkes wasn't in SL in 2007.
In 2008 Wilkes made 26 appearances to Baileys 20, Wilkes made 1 more meter per carry than Bailey but made 16 errors to Baileys 7 and missed 47 tackles to Baileys 17.

In 2009 Wilkes made 26 apps to Baileys 16. Made 1 meter per carry more. Made 13 errors to Baileys 7 but missed 60 tackles to Baileys 22.

In 2010 Wilkes made 27 apps to Baileys 22. Wilkes made just less than a meter per carry more. Made 25 errors to Baileys 10 and missed 67 tackles to Baileys 28.

So far this year Wilkes has played double the amount of games, I'll give you that one. But they're making the same amount of metres. The errors are proportionate but Wilkes has already missed nearly 3 times as many tackles, 31 to 11 respectively.

Cool. So basically, despite being in about the worst team in the competition, he has without fail, made more metres per carry. Obviously players will miss many more tackles playing in a team like London, where they have to face more tackles, and have their defensive line broken many more times.
