I don't think we have a 'right' to silverware at all. What I do think is that a club of our size, with its fanbase and off the field set up, should be up there competing with the top 3 or 4 teams in the competition and be in with a [irealistic chance[/i of winning something. At the moment, we're nowhere near. And we won't be until we have a new coach.

If a top 8 finish would be 'just nice' for you, that's your prerogative. I feel we should be aiming higher.

So Wigan, Saints, Wire, Leeds, even Hudds and Rovers see finishing anywhere in the top 8 of a 12 team competition as reaching their pinnacle. That really is genuinely funny, good work!

I do not think most fans will take 8 because we are at the bottom. Most fans are saying Agar Out so we have a chance of competing in this league.

I think we will struggle against Crux because everyone will struggle against them even in a win as they are a fairly well drilled side and now playing to the remit that Nobby laid out for them..
However i do think that we may just turn up at Wigan and give them a game because we are due one , another game under Hornes belt, Long should be back , Phelps should be online!!! could just give them a scare or two that will kick off our season....

You're wrong that it's in those team's remit aswell though, do you really think the coaches of Leeds, Saints, Wigan and Warrington are told just to get the boys anywhere in the 8 and have a dig from there?

Also if knockout footy is such a great leveller then isn't it odd that the best teams from the league season almost invariably get to the final?

Other coaches are available...very available. If due to circumstances we are not able to appoint any-one straight away Lasty does not do a bad job in the 20s so I suppose for a few weeks he could do a job, at least he knows how to interchange players!

When did 2 teams drop out?? Last time I looked we had a 14 team competition.
