To take a seven point lead towards the end of the game and not expect or effectively defend a short kick off which led to a try is really dumb.
Radford needs to sort this out.To blame Catalans spoiling tactics and ball boys not returning the ball into play quicker is pathetic.

I dont think its just me who thinks Griffin is poop.You should wake up.
Even yesterday after he said he had something to prove did nothing.
He let Nick Rawsthorne take up most of the carries while he stood on the wing.
A 16 stone 6ft 4in player stand there doing nothing whilst a 14stone rookie is left to carry up the ball.
he was also at fault for their try.His position to catch the ball was correct,it was not too high but he dropped it.Rawsthorne coming in didnt help but should not have mattered.
If you want to defend him then fine.You wont find much support

Apart from the bomb and as you say two Hull players challenging doesn't help I didn't think Griffin did a lot wrong last night.

Rawsthorne certainly did more carries, only 2 though, but that's the style we play, wingers do more work from acting half, early in the sets.

No player is above criticism where its deserved, just you seem to have an obsessive phobia about Hull no 4s. First it was Yeaman and now Griffin where any valid points you may have quickly become lost in a paranoid witch hunt that rapidly becomes tedious. Has it occurred to you that it could be part of the coach's game plan that the wingers take the ball up more, after all that's what has usually happened with Radford's teams so perhaps he was obeying orders? He didn't have a great game yesterday but neither was it a stinker that cost the match.

To be fair I didn't think either of them warranted a red, yellows would have been fair but this is the problem with the sport, it's not just the refs who are poor, the match review panel don't even show consistency.

Don't know if he blamed the defeat on those reasons but he has a very valid point about the spoiling tactics and the slowness of the game.

It was absolutely ridiculous that they were allowed to reduce the game to such a slow pace.

If other teams follow suit then fans will leave the game in droves because it was so boring and not a good example of a spectator sport.

They were gone in the last 10 minutes of the 1st half and if we'd been allowed to play at a normal pace of a game we'd likely have scored in that period

The thing is he was the 'big' signing before we bagged kelly and bigged up by pretty much everyone on here in the thread that broke the news last year.
people thought he was a great signing/big and powerful/makes tons of metres etc etc.
So with that comes a certain expectation, especially after the big let down of Pritchard who was supposed to smash it in SL but was average far too often and could barely manage 30minutes a game (20 in some).
No-one wants him to fail or not play to what fans would expect him to play at given his credentials but so far he is well short of that.

The real issue is that we don't get him good, quick ball because no one in the team seems able to pass or to actually run straight at the opposition in order to draw defenders to them. If he got decent ball he'd look a lot better player in atatck (although he is defensively poor from what I've seen). It's why our 2nd rowers rarely make breaks and really needs sorting. Our attack is so slow and ponderous it's painful to watch

Oh I agree however a good player does more than just wait for good quick ball and seeks to get stuck in elsewhere or figure a way of overcoming situations that are less than ideal.
if you can only perform if your team gets you into an ideal position then it's hardly surprising he hasn't being looking that great.
Someone mentioned he should get a spell in the second row, frankly it might get him into the action a bit more in attack and just use him as a fleet footed forward then bring him back to centre for defence (unless he fancies it in the middle?)
He's not hapless by any stretch, he just needs to get involved a bit more for a player of supposed calibre.

Remember Griffin is supposed to be our star signing for this season and no doubt a salary to match.
He has had time to settle into the side and style of play but i have yet to see any improvement from his poor to average displays.
Its not a witch hunt nor am i paranoid,but in my opinion once we have a near fully fit squad and assuming Fonua will still be with us then Griffin will be lucky to get a game.
For that reason i can see the club trying to move him on at the end of the season

Star signing, I don't remember that been said by many if any fans, before signing Kelly, I thought the two we signed had potential, add competition to the backs and help improve our attacking options, personally think they are going this.
