He's alright, should rovers get promoted I'd like to see him stay with us but like several have said on this thread already, I think his long term future possibly is as a ball handling 13 rather then a half back.

What I think is positive is that, whether at Hull or KR - im pretty certain he'll be getting regular SL game time next season and that a year in the championship working under Tim Sheens will, long term, be a great benefit to him



Hull FC fans - would it at all be possible that, should KR get promoted, he could end up back at Rovers for another season long loan possibly?

He has signed a contract extension he did it months ago they just announced it late. Only last week peope I spoke to at our Club were openly talking about him coming back but that he might end up a 13.

An FC fan on FB said he spoke to JA himself who said he hadn't signed an extension.
Either way unless Radford dramatically changes how we play then how are we going to accomodate a ball handling 13 next year?

I do find it strange that there hasn't been one comment from Abdul about signing a new deal, I have never ever known a player sign a new contract and not make a quote.

Lad is/was in an unusually delicate position. Trying to sound suitably enthusiastic about his longer term future at Hull while not saying anything that might sound like he's less than 100% committed to Rovers in 2017, would be a fine line.

It'd be doable, and he seemed pretty articulate in the couple of interviews he's given to Hull KR tv. But why take the risk? it doesn't take much for some people to take umbrage. And an innocuous middle ground line risks annoying the easily-annoyed on both sides.

The fact that official confirmation came shortly after he said something mildly equivocal about his future looked like Hull marking their territory - and fair enough, you are his parent club. But it just shows how difficult it is for him to safely say anything.

As it's already been said by MR it's a bit difficult for him to enthusiatic about signing a new deal while playing for there rivals we won't know until the end of the season what he's going to do contracts are meaningless anyway Radford might want the cap space so may release him who knows

Abdul's main issue is he's not really quick enough to be a top class stand off and he's not yet big enough to meet the physical needs of playing at 13. I see him very much in the joe westerman mould and if he can stay on track fitness wise and bulk up in the next 2 or 3 years he can play that role but I don't honestly see him playing 6 regularly in SL

Watched the Bulls game. Both his long and short kicking made the difference and put them under a lot of pressure for sure. As for his running game he tried to barge through a few times so maybe there's hope for him at 13 yet.

I see him more like Jason Smith. He wasnt big for a 13 and wasn't especially quick. But he defended well, kicked amazingly and did magical things with the ball. He was heard to bring down and always seemed to have time.. When you watch Abdul you see flashes of all these traits. Just flashes though.

He's been barging through all season with some success I know it's the championship but there's some big physical sides in this league

Some sizable forwards in the championship, fat lads and part timers as well as all the loaned and dual reg kids. Liked that Polish lad from Leeds playing for Bradford.
