I see what you're saying but I think it's probably worse in that the players and coaching staff are giving their all and this is as good as we are. A new coach would have some impact but can't make old players young , slow ones fast , dumb intelligent or ineffectual ones aggressive. Yet again it's recruitment that is our failing compounded by inexperienced coaching staff and a deliberate localist policy that can only work once professional foundations are laid AND has a solid , successful on field platform to work from.

Hard to argue with that.

Done a very good job at Dewsbury and has earnt his chance at SL, well respected player in SL and NRL. Similar to Powell who many wanted. Still a big gamble though, but who isn't at Hull.

Morrison could well be a very good coach, but I would say it's too much too soon for him right now. We need an experienced man to oversee the rebuilding of the club over the next few years.

It's not really a gamble if the other option is keeping Radford though. At this stage Id take almost anyone just to freshen things up a bit. He couldn't do much worse.

I'm not in favour of getting rid of Radford just yet, but if Pearson did do a 180 on the subject our next coach HAS to be proven at SL/NRL level. Of everyone in SL I think i'd really only want Tony Smith.

How about Powell, or Morgan?? (learning under Bellamy)

We need someone to radically overhaul, the training ,preparation, and coaching team.. placing all these things with an inexperienced coach, is a massive gamble, same with Agar Gentle and now Radford.

Agreed although as I said before the season started if the team is struggling after Easter then Pearson should act. Next three games very important.

Been away for a few days and am just catching up.

Agree with the above and as some other contributers have said that it's all well and good trying produce your own but at the moment I'm afraid some that have come through are not SL standard with exception of Shaul, Langcaster possibly. Hard to see any of the others getting in any of the top teams and that's the standard they have to be. My worry is the age of the more experienced players so they are only a short term fix. We will have to do what Rovers have done and sign a new team in 2 to 3 years time.

Regards the coaching staff , they are as previously said too inexperienced and need a proven coach working with them. NOT Noble or Macca please. A Brian Smith or someone of his ability from the NRL to bring thier standards and fitness regimes and conditioning expertise.
I like someone else was surprised how Andy Last has become an assistant coach to the first team. Don't think he is good enough or got the experience. Wasn't good enough to become a first team player so fail to see how he can be good enough to be a first team coach.

Feel sorry AP for getting the stick he's getting. He at least feels passionately about the club and has put his money where his mouth is. I firmly believe he is trying to do what a lot of the fans would like to see happen to the club. He has invested heavily in the youth set up and given his coaching staff what they wanted. It hasn't work out yet and I'm as gutted as everybody else that we are not getting the results we'd hoped but I believe he is the kind of man that won't let things slide too far without taking action.

Having been a supporter for 63 years I've seen it all and despair that the last few years of changing coaching staff and players we've gone from challenge cup winners and grand finalists to where are now and quite honestly can't see it getting any better soon.

I live in hope that I will see us win the challenge cup at Wembley and be in the top 4 at least before my supporting days are over.

The whole Coaching structure at the Club is inexperienced.
Our owner is new to the sport . He needed to break the bank for a top Coach when he cleared out McRae and Gentle .
The current set up may have worked with an experienced man at the helm as Head Coach. Radford is like Agar , an Assistant at best.
Andy Last is a good Youth Coach , who is also clearly out of his depth .

Justin morgan could be a good shout for me

I sure as hell am starting to feel the same way as in the Agar days, when nothing could shift him, Kath'n'co backed him unquestioningly, and he refused to act on his word and walk. That hideous April Fool's Day announcement when they extended his contract - deja-vu with Pearson's words of support before this season started - 'A NEW COACH IS NOT AN OPTION'. 13 days to 1st April...

Is he? How do you know that? What positive evidence is there? He's one of the now few common denominators of the past 6 or so unsuccessful and underwhelming seasons. He should have gone as should the whole of the coaching staff when Agar went.
