Allam allegedly in talks with the council to buy the stadium again. Pearson pointed out the wonderful top class sport the city is producing at the moment and how far this has developed since the stadium was built. Said it would be ludicrous to sell such an asset to the city amid this current tide of sporting positivity.
He, Pearson, was at the Guildhall talking with the council this morning about the plans for our heritage year next year. Claims there are some massive FC fans in important positions there. Admitted the council are streched for cash so a wad on the table could tempt, but argued with the council this morning that if a sale is considered then we, Hull FC, would also be in the market to buy it! I am in love with Lord Faulkner.
Doesn't stop the fact that the Egyptian monster appears to have raised it's double head again, though.

Dunno. He repeated it twice while staring seriously into the audience. Guess it would depend on how ludicrously low any further offer from Allam would be. Perhaps Pearson could raise a consortium?

Last time round maybe. But the council would only entertain Allam if a load of cash were on the table and AP's skint and scrimping on the cap, right?

Not sure. Pearson was quite bullish about the cap and was celebrating the fact that we are currently £120k over it legitimately, due to Horne, Yeamo and Biggs. May scrap YPI and start from scratch with an elite centre solely for us. Then the 'buyin the stadium' stunner. All the talk was about spending not saving. Could he, like Hudge, have had an injection from an investor?

| I would fancy APs chances of raising funds from elsewhere above Allam's tbh. AP will have a lot of contacts.
The stadium should stay a community facility though. Neither tenant calling the shots.

Pearson also believes it would be wrong for the council to sell and thinks it would probably be legally difficult anyway, and I certainly haven't changed my stance on that. He was more making the point that if the council weakened out of financial desperation Allam wouldn't have it his own way. In a free market there would be more than one potential buyer.

From what I understand, AP has a pretty good relationship with the council (hence his personal involvement in the original lease agreement). Interesting. The scenario of Allam being Pearson's tenant, however remote, is hilarious.

I think he said Saints weren't at the meeting, the chap from Castleford is ill so wasn't there and Bradford can't vote anyway. Hetherington was trying to crash the changes through even though they weren't meant to be discussed at that meeting.

Fingers crossed that the Lib Dems don't get control of the council, now that would throw a spanner in the works.

Both the RFL and GH just happened to have forgotten to mention then absences, strange that isn't it. In an unbelievable case of hypocrisy he then has a go at the rebels for having made the decision in advance.
I can't think of anyone who would sit through a meeting when they are trying to be bounced into a vote.

Rhino's fans getting quite defensive about Hetherington (understandable), but having heard what Adam had to say about this weeks meeting I have to say I agree with the decision taken to walk out.

Well, quite. And even more alarmingly, the RFL is backing the Hetheringtons to the hilt.

Saints and Cas were the 2 I couldn't understand, so that suggests an explanation. Also, if true, that now means that more clubs left in protest than stayed in favour, as by my count:
Left (6) : Hull, Rovers, Wigan, Wire, Hudds, Catalan
Not present to begin with (2) : Saints, Cas.
No vote (1) : Bradford.
Leaving 5: Leeds, Wakey, Widnes, Salford, London.
Again, IF TRUE, that's starting to look very iffy and really poor form by the RFL. Firstly, a vote of such importance should not have even been broached without all interested parties having representatives there. Secondly, if it wasn't on the agenda it should not have been brought up. Thirdly, those 5 in favour make interesting reading.

| I'd imagine with Pearsons sporting connections, a serious offer to the council would be considered more than the Egyptian Fruitcake's.
At least it'd stop the self-promoting squash tournaments that fecked the pitch.

| Pleased with what AP had to say, as usual. Also Radders talks a lot of sense, interesting comments about our attack last season. I'm hopeful that the decision to switch coaches was the right thing to do.
