I don't see how a single statistic "destroys" my argument. Sorry. It goes towards your argument, but as I've already said, that single number is quite disputable and it's not certain whether it discredits mine.

They're playing mediocre otherwise. Yes.

I'm as skeptical about statistics as anyone. However, you'd have to have an enormous sampling error in order to make any significant difference to Horne's showing relative to other halfbacks - all of whom are being assessed using the same methods. Moreover it backs up what you can see when watching games with an unbiased eye. It's also supported by who is scoring our tries - the majority being on the side of the pitch that Horne predominantly plays on.

It was telling when The Prof handed him his ar*e on the last page and he just made some silly rhetorical comment instead of addressing the evidence presented. Either an idiot or a troll. Potentially both.

I'll just refer you to this what I said earlier:

I'm saying to compare Horne to other halfbacks in other teams is therefore important because it's putting things into context. When you do that, you realise that Horne shouldn't be in your top 3 because he doesn't do what a halfback should do consistently enough.

This what I'm saying isn't all that controversial, and some will agree with me when they realise Horne cannot keep up this form for the entirety of the year. People are just being overly optimistic at the moment, even me, I can't wait until Holdsworth and Ellis are back. It's just some people don't like people who put a downer on things, I guess.

Just one example though would be Horne's performance against Rovers. It wasn't anything to boast about at all. He was the best of a really, really, really bad bunch in terms of attack. He did make a couple errors which then led to Rover's tries however, and people completely ignore this.

You'll just have to settle that I have too seen all of the games, every try multiple times etc.

I'll just reply once more and put it as clearly and easy to follow as I can: So far this season, Richard Horne has done his job better than any other Hull FC player has done theirs, and more consistently. It really is as simple as that.

I know about 5 sl players to talk to or spend time with and they all agree regarding Richard Horne. I'll go with them n their opinions over yours!

What do we ask Horne to do? Create tries, score tries, kick well, organise the team and tackle?

So this season he is creating tries, not really scoring them, kicking as well as he ever has, is doing well with the organising considering it's not his normal game and playing with different partners and his tackling is excellent.

That doesn't mean we don't need a new half to play alongside Holdsworth and it doesn't mean we will win anything or have an impact on the playoffs. However it does mean he is pretty much the heartbeat of our side and in the games we've played well in he has been a significant contributor.

Indeed, and I am far from being Horne's number one fan, but he has been solid and reliable (if not more) this season so far.

Judge him on what he does, not wether he fills a gap that we know we have.

In most of your posts, you're saying that Horne has only played so well and got all his assists on the back of our promising squad. Now he's the best of a really, really bad bunch? If our highest rated player (agreed by hull fans and neutral observers alike) isn't good enough, then we need to sack our entire squad!

You also say that pretty much any other halfback could comfortably do what Horne has this season if surrounded by such a promising team. On that premise, our squad is as good as any other team in super league???
