On a more serious note the game is on its Arse. Watching the game is all about plays and one big bloke tackling another big bloke on a drop off ball. Economics will eventually say that only 1 club will exist in Hull. This will be a merged club and will play more than likely at a well developed Craven Park. if you think this will not happen then i am afraid cloud cuckoo land beckons !!!!!

IF i had a pound for every time merger was mentioned i would be on my boat in cannes, never gonna happen end of, right am off to cloud cookoo land.

The current ground would have to be totally knocked down and rebuilt for that to happen. Removing all signs of Red n White and be totally decorated in the merged clubs colours.

Then, after a few years, i might consider going.

But seeing as most players for both clubs live West of the River Hull it makes sense to play in a stadium to the West.

No offence meant to any Rovers fans reading this but I think the KC would be the better option for capacity. I can't comment of the facilities as it's been a long time since I've been to Craven Park.

No offense taken by the comments but don't you think 25k would be too big? Especially as there wouldn't be a derby to get the sell out? When/If Craven Parks gets completed it would be around the 14/15k mark with standing and seating so would probably be an ideal size.

If Hull FC can't survive then nobody can. We are one of the biggest ( potentially biggest ) club in super league. We just need to start being successful and all this talk will go away

We've averaged around 14,000 for a season before.

If your going to merge 2 clubs the plan should be to get all the fans from both clubs to attend.

I think a merged club could realistically average 15,000+ providing they could regularly make the top 5.
Even higher once people got used to the idea. You will get people staying away for the first 2 seasons.
But they would soon drift back if a sniff of success was on the cards

Why all this talk about a merger, it's not going to happen.

That's correct it won't happen but it does make a change when both sets of fans can pretty much talk about it without it getting too silly.
One question I honestly don't know the answer to is would the rental agreement at the KC be void if the clubs merged? As it would probably be a different company?

Which would lead to another one - would you want it to be? Hull FC's current deal is in many ways theoretically extremely generous, but in practice maybe not that well suited to them now - especially if they want to increase crowds. And with bigger crowds being the main pro for a merger that would be an issue. If it were happening, which it isn't.
The (currently) above inflation increases in their ground rent would be a concern too.
I guess a genuine merger would be liable for both parties' contracts, hypothetically.

IF there was a merger i could see the rugby being played at craven park and allam getting his wish of buying the KC.

Wigan will merge with saints ,,bradford with leeds hull with rovers,warrington with widness,all never gonna happen , still i suppose it gives us something to chat about,

I'm a fan of mergers where they're necessary, in the case of Hull it's not.

There's too many think mergers are something that should be pushed at all clubs regardless. They're not. They're a tool to be used in cases where there's no way certain clubs can be viable in the current form. If you take the baseline for being a long-term sustainable club as a 10k average attendance, then Wigan, Leeds, Warrington, st Helens & Hull FC are all over it with Bradford, Catalans & Hull KR being reasonably close to it. So no need for a cross-Hull merger.

Atm the only clubs looking like needing it in SL are Wakefield & Cas. Oldham & Rochdale if they ever wanted to compete in SL would need to. Quite possibly all 3 cumbrian teams if they wanted to be an SL side as well.
