Off the top of my head from players that have played or are playing centre in SL, I'd rather have Goulding, Jones, Soliola, Atkins, Bridge, Evans, Ratchford, Watkins, Moon, Ablett, Cudjoe, Millard, Menzies, Duport, Shenton, Carney, Collis, Mellars, Marsh & Lulia.

IMO given the chance Rich Whiting would be our best centre from our current squad. Yeaman to me is nowhere near skilful enough to be a top class centre. There's probably plenty of back rowers who could arguably play centre and provide the same skills. His defence is usually solid but this season even that has been very suspect. Hopefully when he's back from injury he can turn that around but longer term I'd ideally like to see him eased out if the team/squad.

When yeaman missed games last year when he come back it was massively noticeable.
When on form a tremendous line runner, consistent try scorer, powerful runner, good metre maker, hard hitting defender and always a good 100% attitude.
Without sounding to personal that list is truly dumb. A few 2nd rows n then goulding? If kirk was at Wigan how do you think that would make him look? Cos goulding was a walk the ball over the line without a hand on him winger that's made good in the centre playing with a top team. And Mellars?!! Serious? He played his 1st game weekend. He is massively 4th choice behind Collis smith n Lyne at wakey as centre.
Yeaman has flaws but people seem to be forgetting about just how well he does the stuff he's good at. Has a good rep around the league among his fellow pros. A player opposition don't like playing against.

Well said. As with Rich Horne, people are too ready to condemn and it usually comes back to bite them in the bum. Yeamo has not been at his best this year but he's easily the best we've got whilst the pretenders to his throne only have potential.

And yet oddly you paint him to be a world beater.

I've experienced Yeaman's entire career and can remember all of it. I agree he's been neither a world beater nor crap during that time (apart from the odd diabolical game that all players have). He's OK. But he's not a great centre. And not quite as good as you make out IMO.

People on here constantly demand that players are picked on form. Would you say he's in good form right now? Better form than our alternatives?

Anyway - moot point for the next 6 weeks. Let's see who comes in and how they perform.

I'm saying that Yeaman is not in good form and should therefore be [iin the frame[/i to be left out. Arundel's had one lousy game and one good one so far - a little early to tell how he'll go long term.

But the problem here is before friday Arundel was considered by many on here hardly good enough for York never mind us but now he,s been referred to as STRENGHTH in depth.

been a Rovers fan i would much rather have Arundel playing against us than Yeamon Arundel has looked terrible whereas yeamon is a pretty solid player

Well I'd personally disagree on more than a few of those.

I'd like to think that Yeaman and Briscoe will get the chance of playing outside Gareth Ellis when he is fit. Galea dropped to the bench as an impact player, and Crooks and Lineham playing outside of Tickle.
Arundle looked OK at weekend against, lets be honest, a very very poor Castleford side. Arundle will go ok in attack, but i'm not too sure he can defend. Gareth Hock ran straight through him when we played Widnes. Saying that though, he is a pretty big kid and can be devastating with the ball.
This weekend is the big test for Hull against a confident Huddersfield side. If we can keep Brough quiet, we have every chance.

in superleague id rate: cudjoe gleeson ablett watkins bridge atkins lulia moon collis crookes hughes millard webster arundel welham blythe soliola carney duport shenton and a few more that ive missed all better then yeamo in attack!!!
and alot of them would more then match him in defense.

what i will say is yeamo offers passion and effort and is 90% solid in defense hes black and white through and through which is good to have but that's not what its all about we need quality in these positions. Crookes will become a future star IMO and lineham also Jason Crookes is a good super league quality winger. Arundel has huge potential but its how he applies himself that will determine whether he is a star or not but looking at the future it looks bright in the backs

Id say Yeamo is a great defender but just an average attacker but still the best centre we have at the club

id disagree and say Crookes is already better then him maybe lacks size but other than that i think he is all round the better player but everyone will have a different opinion

yeaman will be a big loss, particularly for the derby game. Expect rovers to hammer our inexperienced 3/4 line

Don't post very often on here but read everyday and have done for years. I have never read so much in all my life. lewis_hullfc you are a complete kn0b,wishing injury on a player. What is it with certain Hull FC fans that they have to find somebody to have a go at? Who will it be next week? Yeaman isn't the greatest player in the world but he wears the famous Black and White with pride every week and gives his all and that's good enough for me!!!

i have said 4 or 5 times now i don't mean how it came across and im sorry how it came across. what i am glad about though is that we have the chance to play someone who passes the ball to briscoe after all gentle said he would play the team on form and yeaman is certainly not on form. yes he has been average in the past and yes he plays with his heart on the sleeve but that's where fc go wrong because he is a local lad we seem to accept average and that for me is not good enough we will win nothing with average especially in key positions if thats good enough for you then your
