But surely by the FC Voices doing Forums and Heritage weekends on a voluntary basis it leaves the Paid staff of the club to get on doing their jobs so to speak - by the way did you go to Heritage day. Arthur Bunting, Gentleman John, Waudby Family, Keith Tindall, George Robinson to name but a few all had tables with their memoribilia - The Club did not liase with them to come FC Voices did. Now if I was a member of FC Voices I would say after todays insults I am off.

Don't worry, we won't let a few naysayers on an insignificant message board spoil it. We'll just laugh at them using their energy getting their knickers in a twist

If this board is so insignificant, why did you spend most of yesterday and already today defending FCVoices on it? Despite saying you didn't have to numerous times.

And you can't seem to see what happened on here yesterday. I'm not bitter, far from it. You obviously didn't read my last post as you will have seen I said you can't please everyone, with a shrug of the shoulders attitude.

I don't mind people having opinions. But posters shouldn't start a thread to just use divide and rule which is exactly what happened yesterday. Standee asked a question and within the second page it was answered by two people. That should have been the end of it. Threads are usually locked when a question is answered but the mods let this descend into a free for all.

And as for being on here defending yesterday, I give my time for free, I don't have to and neither does anyone else on Voices but we do it because we believe in it, just like we all go to watch Hull FC because we believe in them.

If you don't like Voices or what we do, fair enough but to carry on the way some posters carried on yesterday was quite immature and there was no need for half of it.

They represent the full spectrum of FC fans, ie hardcore ones and the others who just listen on radio.

They also have ethnic, disabled and lesbians covered, but thats just Ratty Joe

+ Standee doesn't like them either.

It was left open as Kosh had said to Standee there was no problem to have a debate on Voices and that's what happened. Better this than have comments on the annoucement threads.

I do find this can happen within these groups unfortunately.

You read other pages and you'll see threads locked when a question has been asked and answered, this should have been no different. Considering the tone of the OP, it was never going to be a sensible, balanced debate was it?

I don't want to be a mod, I can't guarantee I am able to be online when needed, nor do I have the personality to do it. I'll leave that to the real ones and the modabees.

Threads asking simple questions with simple answers are often - not always - locked when the question is answered. Often at the request of the OP. This was never one of those threads. If you can't see the negative consequences of locking a thread containing a complaint about the lack of opportunity to discuss a particular topic then you're a little naive.

Debates on messageboards aren't always sensible and balanced. That's just the way it is. And it isn't reason enough on it's own to lock threads. If it were, half the site would be in permanent lockdown.

And if you couldn't see what was happening, surely you are a little naive too?

Damned if you do!! I will not sit back and be personally insulted, which is what the above posters did. I defended it now I get told this is not the place for me for defending myself and the group I am in, you just couldn't make it up.



I really should know better actually because I know for a fact Standee doesn't really hate FC Voices, he was just trolling as he has been in touch with the group telling us what good work we do and offering to sponsor equipment we use for fans forums. Thats why this should have been locked as Standee was goading for a response, and he got what he wanted, nothing to do with stickies.

You are not being criticised for defending either yourself or Voices. You are being criticised for suggesting that threads should be locked because you don't happen to like them and for overreacting to perfectly normal message-board content. Other members of Voices are capable of defending the group on here without doing either of these things.

You probably won't be able to see this, but your overly defensive responses on here have done more harm than anything Standee posted.

Standee asked for it to be kept open and let Voices defend, I did but was duly ignored by Standee and he hasn't responded since (which was his intention). I'm not the one who has been shown to be a troll or to make crass, immature remarks.

Oh believe me, other members have been in touch and are in absolute agreement about what this thread has been all about. There are reasons why they haven't responded on here which I'm not about to go into, but they are 100% behind me.

I wanted it locked for the very reason what the thread has become about. A question was asked which was nothing to do with the running of Voices, if anything it was to do with the running of RL Fans and how they manage stickies but as usual, and by the usual suspects it descended into nothing of what the OP was about, THATS why it should have been locked.

I tend to treat claims of anonymous support with significant scepticism. Ironically, Standee also makes these claims. In fact the two of you are more alike than either of you thinks.
