Not going to read too much into one game & rip into the side, but I do have one complaint: Galea should not still be out there. He's been awful & should have been replaced.

Galea easily the worst player on the pitch IMO. Can't say I'm surprised.

point is we gave up on recruitment when these fell through and gambled on seymour who time and time again has proved he isn't up to the task in big games. there must have been better out there than seymour even if it involved a fee

Dunno about easily. I've been unimpressed with Arundel and the halves have both been poor.

One of the most puzzling things for me is that even with a change of owner, coach, and much of the squad we [istill[/i have many of the same weaknesses - slow passing, slow PTB, and poor handling for instance.

Actually I think Arundel might well have pipped Galea for the title of poorest player in the last few minutes. I don't think he could tackle a good breakfast.

How can you not read much in to that? It's the same old F.C, we just cannot compete with the top clubs.

Ellis would not have made the difference and those that think one man will make a team it's going to be a longggg season. Thing is I expected this, said to the miss's we would get hammered and my uncle who has traveled to the game tonight.

Why? not because I'm negative as I love the club and want them to do well, i expected a hammering because I believe we have not brought in the players needed, manu is a massive loss he had creativity, when we are on the back foot he could pop out of nowhere and create something and link up well with briscoe etc, thats now gone and there's not one player on that pitch from tonight's evidence that will change my mind.

I once again expect this seasons downfall to be the lack of a "quality" halfback, how many more seasons are we going to continue with a lack of a quality half back paring? or at least 2 players that are on the same bloody level and that can link up.

There is 2 players that tried their hardest tonight and that's McDonnel and Aaron.

We won't be challenging the top 4 again this season, we big up all the signings and say we are going to be challenging the top 4 and are promised "quality" signings with the chairman calling on all hull fans to get their season tickets.

It's going to be another disappointing season imho.

Let's face it, we are a big club in terms of fan base but average on the playing field.

Nope. The curse of our right hand side continues.

For me the problem isn't primarily the halves. It's the combination of the halves and the poor PTB speed. If the halves had more space & a shaken defence to go at they'd probably do better, but likewise they aren't really good enough to open up set defences. If we had one or the other it wouldn't be so bad, but with both problems together we're just far too easy for top sides to stifle.

I've also got to admit it, Arundel's defence has been poorer than I expected.

That's a little more dependent on individual skill. The other things are basics.


Just a bit poorer than Galea in the end. Neither of them look worth a spot on tonight's showing.

Poor poor effort in the second half. Same old Hull just a different season.

We was alright for 50 minutes then simply collapsed. Difficult to take positives from this but id urge the club and the players to stop bleating on about how good we are as we may become decent but we arnt at present

On the plus side I thought that Crookes looked pretty good. Shame about his wing partner, mind.

defence kept leeds in check in first half, fatigue from sheer amount of tacking led to one or two of the late tries.

crookes was for the most part excellent, showed a lot of enthusiasm was very unlucky not to pull off a miracle save on hall's try

yeaman and briscoe kept their side pretty tight, yeaman in particular was good

mc donnell was steady

heremaia looked to change things up a bit when he came on

We were beaten by a far better team. They were faster, stronger, fitter, more aggressive in defence and looked like a team that has played together for years.
We, on the other hand looked like a team with 6 new signings, we were disjointed at times lacked any cohesion and lacked any real bite. Despite encouraging signs in pre-season Seymour was poor at best, Houghton was shocking and our forwards looked unfit. Ironically I thought Crookes and McDonnell were our two best players.
