It is a rumours thread, 99% of what appears on it is horse, and people are well within their rights to question what someone has posted without it being viewed as a personal attack.

What if the physio has done nothing wrong? What if the signs and symptoms all pointed to a certain injury, an injury that any other physio would have diagnosed in the same position, but that turned out to be something else? It must be quite unpleasant for her to read/hear about people besmirching her professional reputation.

The physios always get hammered on here, the last 3/4 are at fault for nearly everything thats gone wrong at the club in the past decade.

she is in the public eye and open to scruitiny like all the others, if they have a tender soul then pro sport is the wrong position IMO, however given the job she does for the club i am sure if she wasnt squeeky clean and up to the job the administration at the KC would have shelved her some time ago !!!

She's hardly 'in the public eye'. She's an employee of the club and most, if not all, of the work she does is behind closed doors. Are you saying that anyone who works for a professional sports club is fair game for (as yet) unsubstantiated rumour and speculation about their capabilities?



It's not about having a 'tender soul', it's about a person's right to carry out their duties without a load of untrained people speculating as to whether they are any good without one iota of evidence either way. If it is proven that she's done something wrong - that is by someone at least as qualified as her - that's one thing, but all we have at the moment is rumour and gossip.

In fairness to you, you have gotten a few things correct in the past. However, you have also been wrong a few times too.

You can't expect everyone on this site to take your word as gospel. That won't happen. Everyone on here gets questioned when they post something in this thread.

Rumours about certain players signing are one thing, rumours about the professional capabilities (or lack thereof) of a non-playing member of the club's staff are quite another. Just because it's a rumours thread doesn't give people carte blanche to post potentially damaging comments about the club's physio. At least, not in my book.

Modern day Physio's are hugely different to those of even 5 or 6 years ago, never mind 10 years ago. I would expect any professional physio to be able to give a reasonable prognosis, but following that, and taking into consideration that they are dealing with professional sportsmen, I would expect that the club would follow this up with expert opinion, to enable the physio, in conjunction with doctors/medical team to diagnose a course of remedial therapy and or recovery.

The physio's job is not one of just diagnosis, it is also to manage the injury and to ensure that the player gets the best and most appropriate treatment and that said player maintains this throughout the recupperation period. I think it harsh to wholly blame the physio for an incorrect prognosis, although if having identified the injury, the physio prescribes the wrong treatment then there is a case to answer.

Another consideration is that if the physio prescribes a course of treatment and the player/injury doesn't respond, then who is to blame, afterall we hear frequently of players not looking after themselves i.e. M O'M, JE, etc. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink and its always easier to blame a third party for your own failings, which I know some of our more UTOA's players are prone to do. Professional sportsmen and women, including our own players, have a duty to look after their own health, if for what ever reason they are reluctant to do so, then the physio, who is some way down in the management system, can hardly be blamed.

It's a reference to O'Meley's smoking addiction, Turner's toffee crisp addiction, McKinnon's addiction to females and Burnett's addiction to blaming the physio.

Makes more sense than anything I could come up with.
