I hope you are right, big statement this but I would be more gutted losing Whiting than Manu.

If I was McNamara I would be tempted to have him in the England squad for his ability to play a number of positions to a very high standard.

3 year deal would be excellent news.

If he'd have been given a back row spot a few seasons ago he'd have had a call up by now, he reminds of Gareth Ellis.

I might bookmark this thread to bring out when we have our annual off-season "Whiting is average and I don't see where he'll get any game time next season" thread.

Just been on RH, he has "opened talks" earlier in the week with Shaun McCrae and he's hopeful for a contract that will take him to his testimonial.

Whiting was outstanding on Saturday in everything he did. Has improved as a player under Gentle. Whatever position he played it certainly worked as we constantly managed to move the ball wider and quicker.

New contract soon, 2 years. Deserves his testimonial.
