Radford was immense and he really put it about early on with the Rovers pack. I'm pretty sure he inspired our players too and Gentle managed his gametime superbly.

Did they? I certainly thought it was likely to include Monday as well, unless we got Moa back unexpectedly quickly. Nobody else was due back from injury in that time frame.

I also thought he'd be playing Monday. And if you was picking on form, he'd get picked in front of Pitts and Bowden anyway. It's hardly like picking him is stunting anyone's development with the amount of injuries we have anyway. Also, should we really be dropping people after man of the match performances? The club gave it to Radders and sky gave it to Turner, and there is no logic in dropping either of these for the next game!

The fans gave it to Radford. Out of gratitude as much as anything, I suspect.

It may be because O'Meley AND O'Carroll are out that he feels we are inexperienced up front with both Bowden and Kent, I think he is probably right.

They haven't remained and he's still playing, and would have played last week if he wasn't injured.
Now he's registered, he'll play in front of Green.

Agree, playing too many youngsters against a side like Wigan can be detrimental to their development.

I'd play Green in front of him still, if he doesn't get any game time he'll never develop.

You reckon Gentle is a poor enough coach to play a half-fit veteran in front of a fully-fit player on a regular basis?

This Radford thing was meant to be a 'one off' for the Easter period, due to extreme circumstances. The circumstances aren't now as extreme, so why is he still playing?
We have Lynch, Moa, Bowden and Pitts in the front row with Manu, Tickle, Whiting & Kent in the back row. He's not needed.
I realise there's an injury doubt over Whiting, but if he's ok Radford shouldn't be playing.

How people can question Gentles selection process at the moment is beyond me. Especially when it's comes to youth. Knowing how to delveop and bring through young players is his seen as one of his biggest strength FFS! I would trust his approach over anyone on this message board every day of the week.

Isn't it possible that Green is knackered after playing more minutes than he should be and needs a rest? The last thing we need is to have our youngsters out on their feet and possibly risking injury.

If anyone seriously thinks Radford will figure once we get some forwards back, they need to give their head a bang.

Still need experience out there, with bowden, kent , crooks and ellis playing you need some good experienced players to help them

But we've hardly got a bunch of players back since then have we? Forward wise we got Moa back and lost Aspinwall. Whiting picked up a knock last week so who knows how he might react to that. I think our youth is getting plenty of experience already, way more than Gentle had probably planned at this stage in the season.

Not sure what the issue is here, clearly we are missing some experienced players and Gentle considers an experienced player who is now at his disposal (and did a decent job the couple of times he played) is more appropriate for this game than a young inexperienced player.

Some people are clearly not happy unless they've got something to moan about.

We've got an excellent coach who's in a tough situation with injuries to key senior players and I think he's handled it as well as he possible could have. It's not like he's got limitless options here.

This could all be immaterial yet, he may not even play. If everybody named in the squad is fit he shouldn't play, IMO.

Who out of the squad are you leaving out for Radford, then? If Whiting is fit and Radford plays it will be for one of Kent, Pitts or Bowden. That, to me is not fair on any of those lads.

Just because a bunch of people on a message board make assumptions, doesn't mean they are justified at being all up in arms when their assumptions turn out to be rubbish.

The logic (or lack of) on this board baffles the fooking life out of me!
