Ellis will make the step up to SL very well IMO....... the only thing I can see that he needs to work on is his weight - not massive but if he can shed a stone it should speed him up that bit more.

If the plans to move Ellis to the first team in 2013/2014 the Williams will have the chance to move to back up.

I'd like us to sign a 6 who can take the burden off him so Ellis can play 7 from next year, much like Briers does for Myler.

If we have McKinnon at fb and Westerman at 13 then we'd have a bit more ball handling in key positions to take some of the burden off him.

I'm not sure we'll ever see Joe at 13. First game we had the opportunity Tickle played there.
I still think Fitz may go round again, an ever-present in SL so far, he may feel he has another year. I said it when he signed but before he even set foot in the country that he will captain us to a Wembley win.

Back to Ellis; I just think that if he's only used as cover he'll be asked to do too much and too infrequently. As opposed to having a structure that he fits into right from the off that's been put into practise throughout the pre season.
Maybe I underestimate the kid, I don't know.

But you would imagine that Ellis will be our 1st choice for years to come so the most Willams could hope for is back up. Or he could be 7 and Ellis 6, as Ellis seems to have a strong running game and kicking game something we have lacked in a 6 since Hornes injury (though he has been coming back into form).

That's Williams' challenge then, he could easily be replaced as back up when the current u18's half back comes through.

Competion for places is what clubs need.

Williams played 6 at Junior level with Joe Walsh (was at Hull but got banned for drug use) playign 7.

In a couple of years Horne and Long will be gone so will need 2 halfbacks.

2 from Williams, Nicklas and Ellis.

Plus a couple others from the 18's might be knocking on the door.

All players have their off days, and Ellis is due one, but if I was a betting man I’d say he’s more likely to score a couple of try’s and win MOM.

As others have said if he continues to progress as he has with us, you’ve got yourselves potentially a great player, good luck to him look forward to seeing him in SL.

I wont be judging the lad on one poor half though, still think he'll be a good signing for us.
