If it really was a 'minor disciplinary issue' then it's not such a problem from the hypocrisy angle. But if he is so 'distracted' that he had to be released by his hometown club, then how can we reason that he's going to give anywhere near 100% to a club a hundred miles away?

The answer is, of course, that standards at Hull FC are nowhere near as high as they are at Wigan.

We don't know the issues but plenty of players have had issues at clubs and then gone elsewhere and flourished, who is to say Gleeson can't do the same no matter where he goes.

He is a quality centre but the question is does he still want to play and commit himself, if the answer is yes then he would be a good signing.

As you rightly point out Paul , we don't know the issues involved and maybe a change of club is the best for him , but there must be question marks about a player who can't fit in with a regime that has propelled Wigan to being SL Champions.

If, as has been mentioned, Gleeson is fixed up for next year and is just coming here until the end of the season then it's a decent move IMO. If however it's for beyond this season, then you can hang your hat on his best mate Long getting an extension which would be a disgrace.
