It's been well established over the last couple of years that people make threats not to go, protests etc.. Yet they still go. Sometimes it's just fun to humour them.

The whole game...has lost a fair bit of its flair...its more power, gladiator style, flair is almost coached out of players nowadys due to strict game plans...
It not just Hull guilty of this!

The immediate problem at Hull is no "fit" quality half backs....no dowt when Longys fit, we look something like!
Without him we struggle....and have done for seasons now!
For the life of me I cant understand why the club...cant see or appreciate our short fallings at half back...
Its fundamental in todays game that a quality half directs the troops round the field, Longy does it, Dobbo does it, Brough would have done it, Horne can't, Washy can't. The last wo are not natural leaders and directors of play.
I just live in hope one day Hull will be blessed with 2 quality half backs!!
Untill then....we make best with what we have!
Agar has a tool box of players and none of them are fit quality halfbacks!
Question....can emotion, true grit and determination win a derby?

On the topic of the boring rugby, I have been finding myself increasingly indifferent to Hull FC over the past nearly 4 years, which scares me more than when I was just ed off. Not caring is when people start to drift away, and I have to admit it's started for myself having not bought a season ticket this year and not going if they're on Sky.

I liken the relationship with your club to the one with your partner/spouse. Yes, you enjoy celebrating their achievements, but that's not why you're with them. It's that magic you feel when in their company, that you don't get from anyone else. Visits to the KC have lost that excitement for me. Winning things would be nice (although I can't see it any time soon), but I'd rather just get my club back.

Can't believe how anyone can defend the tactics in Saturdays game.
Five slow drives without an attempt to win the collision followed by an inaccurate kick. Over and over and over again.
If anyone tries something different they are not sticking to the game plan, not being patient enough.
What about the patience of the poor sods who have to watch this rubbish week in week out.

However the club have known about the half back situation but i guess edged their bets with fingers crossed that SL would manage without a serious injury because the money was needed elsewhere as well in the team which negated the 2nd half back choice....
there are plans to solve this but it is for next season as we shall have to make do for this term i am afraid

I do remember worse than this. I expected more from the team back then too. (although with some team lineups we've seen not much)

The difference this time is that the personnel we have in raises expectations massively and then under delivers continually. The style with which we appoeach a game is just boring. 4th in the table again for me covers up the fact that we've only just scored slightly more points at this time than last year. Thats a huge statement of how poor we are. Poor teams are always found out.

I'll be going on Thursday, but only because i'm incredibly tight and i've got a season pass.

I'm 90% sure i wont be buying a season pass next year if things dont change. Time for my own protest i think, it's come to that point.

I've felt for the last couple of years (mostly) though that watching FC is 80 mins of my life that i'll never get back and could be spent elsewhere. I'll probably choose that option once my pass expires if something doesnt change.

The problem too i guess it that nothing changes on the back of empty threats, especially whilst the tills are still ticking over.

you just cant admit that were sat in 4th because we have earned it!!
we have not been given points cos someone at the RFL likes us but because we won enough games in our fixture list so far to place us there, wether you like the performances or not we are there because the rosta took to the field and won enough games to get us there and thats all there is to it!!

That is so true and sums up increasingly the way I feel. At the moment I'm casting about trying to find solutions , trying to understand why this is happening and desperately wanting that real excitement and anticipation on game days to come back. I'm sure that's why us moaners do it. Not because we want the club to fail but because we're worried that we're losing something that has been so integral in our lives for ever. It's when people get to the point where they don't care enough to critiscise and complain that they'll drift away and if we carry on like this then I fear the clubs seeming indifference will transfer to increasing numbers of fans.

cant only support when times are good old son sorry but you have to know and experience the hard times to know how good the great times feel!!
if you only wish to see a winning team each week then buy a dvd of the best bits and watch that whilst others go to the match .

I fully understand the frustrations - I spend a lot of money myself to watch the same - but from the low points of 2008/9 I think we are emerging albeit a slow and bumpy ride. Half back is an area we haven't sussed, save a couple of cameos, since J Smith and Crooke left, and this has been our biggest woe IMO. Fix that and the next few years will see us improve further. Wigan/Warrington/Leeds and Saints have the best squads in the league when fully fit - a couple of those have struggled when injuries have hit them this year mind. And yes they have better coaches as well although the player quality is no doubt linked to that. They all have quality playmakers which, if you want to play high points scoring rugby, you need. There is no other way. Recruitment needs to be better than ever - we still make mistakes. But I think things will even out more as British players take the overseas slots. We are not badly placed to go forward from here.

Even if there was to be protests i still don't think the board would pay much attention.
They are strong willed (which is a good thing) and are adamant that Agar will deliver. There isn't many people who agree with them tbh.

I answered you're question, 4th. Poor teams are always found out and if you're happy (and plenty of people are) with playing poor and grinding out results to get 4th in games where we should be blowing teams away then thats up to you. My view is that in the big games when it matters the style of rugby we play simply isnt good enough and we'll get found out. We also seem to have issues beating some of the poorer teams. It's helped us massively this season that most teams have taken points off each other otherwise we probably wouldnt be anywhere near 4th. League position has never impressed me, performances do. Performances inevitably lead to decent league position and success.

Have you read my posts over the last 18 months? I'm pretty sure my view hasnt changed based on winning or losing. I want to see performances. You've just made yourself look rather silly. (more than normal anyway)

I still dont buy the halfback injury problem entirely. I've said for the last couple of years that no matter what half back partnership we play they should be able to pass the ball to our centres. Most of the time they look like theyve never even met each other never mind pass to each other, there's a huge gap in what we do with the resources we have and what we should be doing with the resources we have and that falls on Agar and his gameplan/training for me.
