His injury is healed if it isnt retire.
He is supposed to have mastered his Illness, if he cant then retire!

I for one hope he causes mayhem again for defences but if not then he takes the long walk, all players through age or injury get to that point eventually!

He needs to get a grip of the illness and needs a big year, in fairness to him he has not had a regular half back partner, hooker or fullback in recent seasons and I think injuries permitting he will benefit from playing regularly with Long, Tansey and Berrigan.

Some good points..however my biggest issue is his defence he just appears to fall off them, the best players in the world cannot address this problem only Rich, lets hope he does.

Agreed , I suppose that is a big factor but I guess with the abundance of riches playing around him now there is no where to hide and his obvious class has to shine again, and lets be fair he has been brilliant in the past but i have never seen him look so thin as he does now so his tackling wil be scruitinised thats for sure!!
I can imagine one or two players are steeling themselves ready to step in !!

Aye. Let's hope he gets back to his best, because we can't afford for him to have another season like last year. At least we have some options if his form doesn't pick up.

Well both not good, but Hall's is poor, maybe Hall never improved as much as people thought last season, interesting not too keen on stats apart from the ones associated with tackles, for me one of the biggest areas of the game is defence.

Yup. I noticed that when I was looking through his stats a year or so ago. Quite surprising because it doesn't seem to chime with what you see, but Horne has always missed a fair percentage of tackles.

The jump last season was noticeable because it was so large I think. Definitely something to be concerned about if he can't address it, regardless of the root cause.

The problem with those stats is that it doesn't separate before and after his time at Widnes. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of those missed tackles occurred before his temporary exile.

He played well for us during the cup run in 2005, and was instrumental in our winning run that got us to the GF in 2006, but in general terms I wouldn't disagree. The best game I can remember from him in a long while was the cup game away at Saints in 2004 when he completely outplayed Long and we were unlucky to lose. He's never dominated a game in that way since IMO.

I think it will be Yeaman and Whiting. If Hall gets it instead of Whiting that will be fine. I would be surprised if Turner gets in but, again, not too disappointed if he does. I think we really have a dilemma of the best kind. I just hope injuries don't take the choices away though.

My sentiments exactly, fantastic situation to be in.

But, as always, the stats barely scratch the surface, providing neither reasoning nor context. Along with, of course, not providing any definition of what constitutes a tackle or a miss.

Exactly its good that we currently have a choice with selections and to be honest I dont think anyone could complain whoever makes the centres out of Yeaman, Whiting, Hall & Turner.
