| Comparing a number 9 against a number 9, it's Swain all the way.
Berro has been/is a good player but Swain was also a great leader/media face for the club.
How we miss his on & off field guidance.

| Swainy was a quality player and leader but had the advantage of
being in settled team . If you put berro in that team im sure you would have seen his real quality. Berro for me has done well for hull and in a team that has struggled massively .

| Berrigan is a quality player, prior to him coming over here he was one of the first names on the Queensland/Australian team sheets. He (along with Fitz) has a Churchill medal and was regarded by Wayne Bennett as pivotal to Brisbanes success. This doesn’t happen to ‘ordinary’ players.
Since coming to Hull he must be wondering what he’s done wrong. From working under one of the most respected coaches of all time to this, a team full of disgruntled individuals ‘led’ by, at best, a National League coach.

It doesn;t, but we have this knack of making quality players look ordinary when playing for us, and ordinary players look like world beaters when playing against us!
Coach? Board? Cancer at the club? I dunno, but it has to be sorted very very soon!

| If you take one world class player and surround him with dross, he's always going to struggle. Berrigan has done as much as can be expected given what he's had to work with and the fact that he's playing with injections. Anyone who can't see that knows little about the game, IMO.
If we had a dominant pack and a capable halfback, you'd see a different Berrigan.

| Spot on Rock God X
With a quality halfback pairing Berro would get less attention in a game for starters. A team facing us know they do not have to worry about the halfbacks doing anything spectacular so they can be extra vigilant for players like Berro.

Indeed.
I'll tell you precisely why berro has looked ordinary this season;
NO FECKING RUNNERS!
How many times per game do we see opportunities squandered because there is noone to pass to

Top post. Our biggest problem IMO - half backs can't just conjure something out of nothing and with no runners they have virtually no options. Frustrating again that we were fantastic in this respect at the pre season game at Leeds. Wish I'd not gone now as it was our best game of the season and falsely raised expectations.

| You only have to go back to last week and the Saints game . They had 4 or 5 runners every time they had the ball , We had 2 at best.

I completely agree
we could have Swain tackling his heart out all game at the moment and it wouldn't make that much different with all the dross around him, Agar would probably stick him on the bench anyway

| I cant remember how many times I have said to whoever Im sat with, that the ball had gone to the wrong man. On endless occaisions when we have been running around like headless chickens in the oppo's 20 giving drop off pass after drop off pass when the ball eventually ends up in the arms of Dowes/Cusack or some other unexpecting soul that looks at the ball like a 'cow looks at a piano'. Wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time, it's frustrating as feck and ends with the coach and his skills being abject.
Berro, when he went to LF last week worked his bollux off attracting the defence hoping against hope that he would offload to a willing soul, but no, he ended up getting hammered with ball in hand, like a desciple defending the holy grail.
Good on ya Berro, truly class amongst schitt.......too good for us at the moment.

Quite. How anyone can say he's been 'rubbish' is a little baffling to say the least.

| He should go and have his operation NOW. Have it now then have a full pre season ready for our phoenix season next year In all seriousness he is another international who isn't producing. He came on tonight, nearly cleared the stand with a kick out of dummy half, then was asleep and knocked on Thackray's offload setting the first half tone for everyone else. Get him out of the firing line and put right for next year.

i thought he played ok considering he clearly shouldn't be on a rugby pitch with his injury. He was getting involved a lot and certainly not hiding away to protect his knee.
but i agree this years over anyway, lets get him fit again for 2010

Get his knee sorted once and for all. He tried hard but put us under pressure twice early on which is not good enough to be honest.

Against Saints last week and tonight v Wakey was very good at LF, his acting half play isn't a patch on last season, looks to me that he is forcing the issue for Houghton and Lee as rotating hookers and he at LF.
If we can see that why cant Agar ? and play Radford up front and Berro at LF, we move forward better and quicker.
