we need experience right now, we can't gamble on some inexperienced youngster in such a crucial role. The signing we make at scrum half makes or breaks our next 2-3 years really.

Either / or - i would go with but maybe air on the side of caution and go for experience, simply down to the fact we have missed a good half back since Casper left. If we couldn't get an experienced one, i'd risk getting a reserve grade Aussie (young enough to build a team around).

youve signed Fitzgibbon for 1 season, would you want a top class S/H for 1 season too, or a young up and coming S/H who will lead your team for years to come???

not that theres many top young S/Hs about, (maybe this has just answered the question)

Leuluai: couldn’t break into an NRL team iirc and joined Quins
Monaghan: 2nd choice 7 in the NRL and didn’t like playing hooker
Myler: academy
Deacon: cant remember properly, but didn’t he come from Oldham and go through the Bulls academy?
Perry: NRL reject
Van Dijk: NRL reject

All are better at 7 than Thorman and all would start at 7 for us if they were signed to us. Whether we should sign each one or not isn’t the point, the point is that all other SL clubs have managed to find better 7s than we have without much of a problem in doing so. If the club really wanted a good scrum half for once, they could easily get one imo. It’s just I feel they are put off because they don’t come as cheap as any other position

I'd rather we get a scrum half of Orfords age/experience for 2 years, then look to find a youngster who can learn from our experienced half back.

We need a scrum half that can dictate play, be able to pass a ball, call the dummer runners, have a good kicking game etc.....i couldn't care less if that individual is 21 or 31 just someone playing for us with the attributes would be nice.

sadly for us, dobson ticks just about all those boxes

It would be our best ever signing IMO. As you say, chances are zero. In fact I'd go so far as to say there's more chance of me sending Rob Chadwick fan mail, so unlikely is it.

sounds to me he just fancies getting a bigger NRL deal, I doubt he'd come over here until he's at least 30
