We really need to now wave some cash at a top scrum half in this country. As for Crocker well, although he would have been a fine leader on the field we are awash with second rowers and really need a player who will lead us round the field and prefarably play at 7. Quite frankly I am glad its all over with as I really did not believe he would get off the offence in question because thats the way they are.

Crocker will of been on more than that, plus there's Byrne's contract plus others. I would hope to god that there is more in the kitty than that.

Agar doesn't even realise that Radders is useless in attack let alone realise we need a 7.

What I do have to say though is I think he has been treated abominably by the Borders Agency, and is just another example of how our country is going to the dogs with political correctness, and an absolute lack of common sense and descretion when making decisions!
'"
Hear here, to say I'm gutted at the decision is an understatement particularly when the UKBA have stated that they are to 'fast track' sheep shearers. The likelyhood of many of them having no driving offences and criminal record is very low, yet they will be allowed in, double standards and the Greg Bird situation is laughable.

Much as I'd love this to be an option, which club would be willing to part with possibly the single most important member of their squad mid-way through the season?

Offer a sizeable transfer fee eg £100,000,to any of the clubs, these players are contracted to.
1.Orford.
2.Finch.
3.Sherwin
4.Dobson
5.Tim Smith
6.Myler
7.Brough
Any player would be available, if the price is right,in this current economic climate.

| There isn't a British 7 that's good enough anyway !!
This season will soon go into mid-table freeroll and we just have to hope that someone, somewhere in the club has the balls/visions/expertise to sort out our squad for next season but I'm not holding my breath !!!!!

It was allegedly $1million Aus, over 3 years - approx £160,000 a year.

Nobody outside this country will get here in time to be of any use this season.
The others are all key members of the squads of our rivals in SL. Unless those clubs are on the verge of bankruptcy I find it hard to believe they would be willing to part with them mid-season.
Surely the better option is to act now and get Orford/Finch or someone of similar quality signed up for next season?

Fair enough.
I remember reading last season it listed some of the top overseas players what they were earning a season. Players like King, Monas, Berro etc were all meant to be around the £200,000 mark. If that's the case then we must of got Crockers cheap seeing as he's better than all of those players and worth more than what we paid for him.

Warrington parted with Gleeson,
Interesting, if Wakefield sell Brough to Huddersfield.
Hull KR couldnt afford to go Dubai, could they turn down a big offer for Dobson??

Wigan's Tim Smith is homesick and seeking return to NRL
A HOMESICK Tim Smith is on the hunt for an NRL return.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the former NRL rookie of the year wants to return to Australia in 2010 after a stint with Wigan in the European Super League.
Smith walked out on the Parramatta Eels in dramatic circumstances last year after revealing he was suffering from depression.
But after finding form for his new club with two man-of-the-match performances in the past three weeks, Smith has asked his manager to find him an Australian club.
Smith's agent Dave Riolo returned from England earlier this week after spending time with Smith in Wigan. He last night confirmed Smith's desire to come home and resume his NRL career.
A return to the Eels is not on the cards, with the new board not keen on a reunion with the playmaker. But a number of clubs are expected to show interest in Smith including the Sea Eagles, Raiders, Titans, Panthers and the Storm.

| What if. . . a player signed for Cats or another French club and then went on loan to another SL club?
I know nothing about employment law but can't get my head around the fact a SL player can be refused a visa for a UK club however, can be registered to play in the UK by a UK sports body for a French club?
And I can see the red and whites doing everything in there power to bring him across next year, I can remember Danny Divet Rovers fought tooth and nail for him it fell through but opened the door for us to sign Paddy Entat the next year (maybe 2 years) after we signed Divet just to run the salt in.

Good question, I guess I was thinking of Broughy and the statement that Kear made about him being available but at a fee really. Not that I think he is the answer, but perhaps Burrows, Myler, leuleui, Sherwin that sort of thing I guess! The main thing is I just don't want his money sat there doing nothing all season whilst we talk about signings for next year. I want a full compliament of players this season!!
