As i understand things Rovers originally refused to accept his resignation.This means he may not be able to take to up a similar role at another club without compensation.

Hudgell said on Sport Talk last night that Crooks was still under contract but refused to be drawn further. He seemed in a right y mood for some reason.

Giving him that job will be a bigger mistake than appointing Hatton as conditioner.

it depends what the role is, hes been talent spotting for the rfl for 6 years maybe its in that role hull are looking to employ him ,but its looking more like hes walked out on rovers and not they have released him

So hes replacing Crooks then.

His coaching methods are so outdated its untrue.

You know that i know a few players down there and literally nobody has anything positive to say about him and many even said they recieved better coaching at their club sides.

He may be good for spotting talent however if he is the person who is going to be in charge of bringing through our youth players from now on i dread to think what training they will recieve.

Good job he wont be coaching then



We've all had coaches whose training methods we havent liked, it dont mean they are bad though

On flip side, you ask anybody who has been coached by Billy Mallo at Skirlaugh etc, they all rate him as one of the best theyve ever had, yet hes never coached since , why ??

Mel Harmon will do the player performance and Crooks will be head of youth devolpment simlar to the role he held with the RFL so not doing any coaching as you say

He has a terrible reputation on the coaching side but is held in high esteem at the RL as far as his Youth Development role was concerned. However it still for me all conjecture at present, Hudge could have released him as the Mail said then had second thoughts when he found out where he was going. He was certainly in an a*sey mood on KCFM!!!!

It will all depend on how Fudge accepted his initial resignation.

Do you mean if he accepted it in his Chairmans role or his Chief Execs one

Perhaps the chairman agreed with it, then the Chief Executive did'nt and so passed it on to the clubs solicitor!!!

Then there has been Dean Sampson,Mark Barnes,Steve McCormack sort of, then Lee Crooks. IIRC
