I've had some experience of being chair of an association, and it's a bloody thankless task TBH. As others have pointed out, people only want to take part when they have a problem themselves. If they're having an easy life they just can't be bothered. Under those circumstances it's nigh on impossible to function as you can hardly claim to have a mandate when no bugger turns up to meetings or tells you what their position is on any given subject.

Writing to individual members is time consuming, expensive, and usually unproductive.

When you add in the fact that the club have actively shut HISA out, it's no bloody wonder they've been dormant.

If some people on here want HISA to be active and a voice for the fans, get off your backsides and make it happen. Just talking about it and hoping that someone else will do the actual work will achieve precisely nowt.

That experience should come in handy for your new role then.

Joking aside, HISA is just the kind of thing I would probably have got involved with is I lived in Hull. I'm generally in favour of supporter's associations as they can help keep clubs honest if well supported and organised.

As it is there's no way I could offer anything from this distance. I know exactly how much time and effort is involved - it's a major commitment.

I'll ignore the personal insults, I was questioning HISA, not you as an indivdual.

I just asked what, if anything, HISA were doing to represent the fans that are unhappy about the move to all Friday home games, and how active HISA are nowadays, which you have answered.

It seems that HISA's mandate has lapsed, partly due to apathy on behalf of the fan base and partly due to time constraints of the individuals involved, both of of which are understandable. I also think FCVoices was created to kill off HISA anyway, which it seems to have succeeded in doing.

At the end of the day the club really aren't interested in engaging the fans, other than taking their money, they will not talk to HISA (is that HISA as an organisation or HISA as the individuals concerned?, I am not certain), could HISA be reinvigorated, maybe, do we neeed it, possibly not, certainly as long as the club choose to ignore it.

FCVoices are doing [isome[/i good, but it very much appears that their wishes and desires are motivated by the individuals that attend the meetings as opposed to being representative, there is far too much fawning going on and they are too quick to defend the club sometimes.

The club is in a comfort zone, and it will stay there as long as there is perceived success on the field, we may one day wish we had a strong HISA to fight our corner, but that is nobodies fault but our own if we do not have a true and independent voice, should the time come when we need one.

But that was an example of being too easily placated, I would have pushed for a bus like City do, as opposed to a few spaces being given up, that way people with problems wlking distances etc. could also have benefitted.

The reason we didn't go for the Bus was it costs £85 per game to put on. The cost would have to be added onto the £10 we already pay for the bays if you used the bus or not. I personally did't have a problem with subsidising it, but others did and weren't prepared to subsidise so another solution was found.

The club should pay for it, as a service to it's supporters that have mobility issues, you also shouldn't be charged for parking either, your members don't (on the whole) have the option to walk to the ground.

The charge has nothing to do with Hull FC. We have to buy so many extra spaces from the SMC every season because they do not provide us with enough disabled bays. I am not sure of the exact cost of each bay per season but I know its expensive and Hull needed to buy nearly half of their allocation again. It was Brian Johnson who came up with the fair idea of having to charge everyone to cover the cost. IMHO I do not mind having to pay if it means everyone who needs a space gets one.

I'd be taking that up with the council, they have certain obligations under DDA etc.
