Exactly, if the player doesn't want to leave then you could demand £1m, no one is going to pay it so it's pointless. However, if the player wants to leave, othe clubs would know this and you have to be realistic. Unless you're the new Vainokolo, as a winger you ain't going to command a big fee, even if you have rep honours.

I'd hold out for the best deal at Cas, whether that be all cash or player-plus-cash deal. But I would certainly be looking at no less than £150k minimum.

Yes, i do. If we were to be in a bidding war with Warrington then you may get an "inflated" price, but realistically i wouldn't expect us to pay more than £50k, which basically means Wire get him for £51k!

He's a quality player there's no doubt about that. There's no reason why he shouldn't become a full international, although his form has been a little disappointing.

Fielden at the time of the transfer and form in the previous seasons leading up to, he was in a different league to Carvell at the time. Im not saying he was worth the fee that was paid but at the time IMO he was the possibly the best around.

From a Cas POV, losing Westerman on the back of losing Shenton is going to be pretty unpalatable. Starts to look like desperate times if they can't hold on to their best young players. The same goes for Quins, if, as seems likely, they lose the totemic McCarthy-Scarsbrook.

Losing Westerman would be a huge blow to Cas but they did manage to hold onto Owen who some believed on here he might be heading to West Hull.

Having 2 years left on his contract I wouldn't expect Westerman to be let go by Cas for less than £300K. I wouldn't imagine that letting your best young homegrown player go the season before SL Licences are announced wouldn't be a smart move on Cas behalf. However, £300K would be a good deal all round I think.
