But if we can put the offer back on the table with a reduced 2 year deal then we have got a bargain. We would however have to make it clear that we'd need a decision within a few days, or we risk the farce we had with Carvell the other year. |

Is it just me that thinks 'sod him'?
He was offered several contracts by the club, all very good, but turned them all down. Was given a deadline and didn't respond by it.
He's a good player but not irreplaceable. I'm happy with a backrow of Ellis, Tickle, Westerman, Whiting, (with Pitts and Kent for cover) for next season, but we don't want to get too much of the cap tied up in the backrow when there are other positions that more urgently need addressing (such as prop and fullback/standoff).

agree 100%, the Manu love in is a bit embarassing, he clearly has no depth of feeling for FC so he can leave for me. |

my thoughts entirely, I'll be happy if he continues give his all for rest of season and then its goodbye. Think we desperately need a good 6 for next season |

I guess it depends [iIf [/iManu has changed his mind, it shows weakness from Hull to offer him the same terms and conditions he initially rejected.
If, however, a new deal is on the table with less favourable terms, I see no reason why we shouldn't throw it open again. The main thing is for the other players to see that it is on Hull's terms not Manu's.
I like Manu and do trust in his commitment. The fact that the decision was so hard for him and took so long to make in the first place shows the value he places in being at Hull - we'd be foolish to chuck that away unless we have to. As long as the club demonstrates that it will not be held to ransom, what's the problem? Let's not cut off our nose to spite our face - look at the state of Shaun Briscoe's snout.

So Manu turned down a 3 year year deal with us that would have made him one of the clubs highest players, Ellis 180k, to sign for a club who then told him they're new coach didn't want him (although he'd been appointed weeks),
We have now withdrawn our big money 3 year deal and are offering a adequate 2 year deal so he's gone to see what hkr are offering?
Something doesn't add up.

Just because he has put his own personal needs and desires above the clubs, does not mean that he has no depth of feeling for the club.
But then again, what does it matter what his feelings about the club are?
How many players sign for FC (or any other club) because they have depth of feelings for the club? |

This rumour just does not add up one bit. Why would Saints go to all the trouble of going after him if Brown didn't want him in the first place?
If the deal to Saints was in doubt then Hull would never have announced that he was leaving IMO.
I just cannot see this being true, especially as he's already signed the deal.....

Actually he hasn't signed anything yet and that is from Manu himself.
And Hull Fc have not stated he's leaving just that he's been allowed to talk with other clubs.
I can also say that it is true he's spoken with Gentle about staying and was told that, that the last contract offer is no longer on the table.. |

Re: Turner I was told that a deal for him hasn't been done yet, although someone else said that he's now signed for us...but I doubt it really as Hull (publicly anyway) haven't given him permission to talk to any other club(s).

He's not bang on this time I know Manu personally and he hasn't signed for you, although he did admit your offer was a lot bigger than what he'd been offered by Hull Fc |
