I hope he improves then we can sign him back when berro leaves.

So have i, but this kid has got it all. I had my doubts about him a couple of years back but his improvement has been immense. He'll be first choice at Rovers before the end of the season.

I would be very suprised if Hodgson plays for England, I haven't seen anything to say that he would be that good.

He would have leapfrogged Houghton by now.

Then perhaps you should go watch him more often.

Houghton is a far better player, Hodgson looked good in the reserves when playing backrow, looked average in at hooker in the reserves (looked great at academy level).

Hodgson has overtaken Houghton imo, if you're using last season reserves form as a guide then you are being very naive. I like Danny don't get me wrong but i don't think his all round game is anywhere near as good as Hodgsons now and Josh will only get better with more SL game time.

I stand by my comments on Hall, he has enough natural ability to be a top class centre.

OK, but my judgements are in the last 3 years at Hull and the 3 games I have seen him play for rovers this year.

Houghton has really kicked on this year in the absence of Berrigan, give him more game time and startign hooker and think his game will just get better.

Houghton has great defence, good running game and decent kicking game when he uses it, his distribution seems to have improved alot also.

Hall has too many weaknesses in attack and defence. (But thats for another thread).

Seen Hodgson 3 times this year (50% of the games he has played.)

Was really pleased when Morgan picked Josh over Fisher for the derby game.

Hodgson isn't fit to lace Houghtons boots. That's a very silly comment to make and is on a par with your "Hall is a future international" bs.
Have you seen Houghton these last few weeks since Berro has been out? I'm starting to think Berro is holding Danny back as he might be getting stale as an impact hooker.

Don't disagree with much of that and TBF Houghton and Hodgson are probably different types of hooker. I'd say Hodgson was in the Terry Newton mould and Houghton more a Roby style player. But for me Hodgsons passing skills are far more advanced than Houghtons and he gives great options around the ruck.

Working in tandem they could be unbeleivably good hence my opinion that Hull made an big error letting him go (there was only £2k difference afaik). I know Crooksy was livid about it.

Interesting that you've gone from saying categorically that Hall is the best centre in the city to backpedalling and now saying he's got the potential to be quite good. You'll forgive us if we don't share your arguably rather OTT assessment of Hodgson just yet.

Berrigan has actually said that Hull have a very good hooker in Houghton and they can't keep him in the shadows forever.

Disagree, Houghton's improvement this season has been huge and he is really starting to look like a top hooker.

Not sure what the problem is, it is obvious after 6 games (of which he has played about half a game), so thats 240 minutes of rugby to see that Hodgson is better than hougton and going to paly international rugby.

Can see Houghton being called up for the France game though!

Re hodgson/houghton, I was really disappointed we let hodgson go. I'm hoping he'll see out his time at the dobbins and return to Hull. Avid FC fan I believe. I think he has a better all round game than houghton, although houghton did look better on Saturday. I think once hodgson has teh same number of SL games under his belt as houghton does now he'll be the better player. He's also more versatile
