Hope your right, don't get me wrong the guy has been a great player in his time but he is 34 yrs old with his best days behind him, he certainly does not fit into young promising British players which AP has alluded to, all a bit confusing to me.
Unless of course the price is right and he is brought in for a bit of cover and mentoring the young ones which would not be a bad thing.

I would put my morgate on the fact it would not be a large wedge, his family is settled so he may have been offered a wage to reflect his age with a view to a bit of mentoring/coaching and cover, and thinking about that it would not be a bad deal at all.

Galea wouldn't be bad on the right deal, but I would agree that Cas would seem the more likely destination, although Smailes also seems to think it could be on.

Age isn't the only factor though. Warrington have probably the oldest and best squad in the competition and have renewed Hodgson, Morley and Briers. It's the combination of age and injury record that's more important IMO.

Right,just been off the phone to my mate. He said when it came out he wasn't signing a new deal with them, hull had sounded galea out to see if he would be interested in taking on some kind of mentoring role regarding our youth system. As far as he is aware that approach got turned down.

He isn't aware of any playing contract being offered, BUT said one could have been offered as a compromise and a way of getting galea in so he can mentor some of the younger players we're bringing into the side next season.

IF this does come off, he will NOT be a first choice player and he will NOT be on a big salary at all.

In which case it's a smart move if it happens, and gives us some experienced cover in the second row
