I can't see the Chris Bridge rumour being true. His brother (Danny) has just left Wigans academy and signed for Wire.

O'Carroll is a great lad and I hope he does well for you (if the signing is true). It was a terrible injury, and I hope for his sake that he has made a full recovery.

One of the most exciting things he's said since he arrived is that it's much easier to negotiate and buy players in rugby than in football as there's 'one less nought on the end to deal with'.

If we are interested in Lynch then like others have said, a good signing but for only two years max and if we have paid a fee then it should only be a small one.

Signing Lynch isn't building for the future that's my concern. With Radders Moa and Ogre all possibly going at the end of next season. It's going to be very hard to replace three props in one season. If we're going to pay a fee for a prop who's English, then look no further than Larne Patrick. He'd be worth a transfer fee and is only young, 23ish?

Exactly thats the way I saw it. The guy may not have the money for a premier league club but he has enough money im sure to be able to make a success of a club with some very shrewd buys when he needs to.

That's not what you've been suggesting at all. When I stated some younger players with potential you said that they weren't good enough yet and we couldn't afford to wait so need to buy the older guard instead (and at a high price if necessary). Then when our players reach their sell-by dates over the next couple of years we should just start spending again.

Given the fact that Lynch is under contract, wouldn't the transfer fee be one of the first things that would need to be agreed?

I would expect that the Bulls would first of all have to receive an offer they were willing to accept before granting permission to speak to one of their players.

Elliss won't get near the halfs,the only way he'll get a game is if someone gets injured,isn't anywhere near a super league standard half.

I said if we want the best like lynch then we have to be willing to pay a transfer fee. As we have already discussed there isnt many younger alternatives on the market. Hence why I said that lynch would be a good signing and is a realistic signing. I also stated that i wasnt bothered about his age as players can go on for longer these days.

The younger brigade are not they need the more experienced heads like lynch to carry the gauntlet while they progress.
Id have lynch anyday over an average kid who may improve the older he gets.

but if there is a youngster out there who is young and already very good then of course you would get him but the fact is there isnt so you have to look at the older brigade and lynch is one player who id happily sign.

Lynch is a good player but at 32 and paying a fee isn't something I'd be sad to miss out on.
