You may be right on that one but Westerman aint going to come that cheap(50k). From what I remember and Im probably wrong is that the only player you have signed for a transfer fee over recent years is Tansey and that was for pennies.

Why not £50k? Transfer fees are rarely paid nowadays, Wire paid us £50k for Carvell, we paid £30k for Tansey. Big transfer fees don't happen in our sport, Myler's £200k was an exception to the rule, he was technically England's 7, and probably the brightest HB talent (Tompkins and Eastmond aside) we've got, these players are like gold dust and so command a figure like that, players like Westerman don't.

It would depend if the player expressed his desire to leave or not.

I would not pay a six figure sum for any player unless it was a top halfback. Westerman has been poor this season and has also had some offfield issues so who knows what the Cas stance is right now?

What you expect and what you get are two different things. Is Fielden 9x better than Carvell? I would have expected around £100k for Carvell but we never got it.

I wouldn't expect anymore than £80k, if he wanted to leave than i would let him go, but no team is going to pay more than that for a winger IMO. So you're stuck with what to do, do you keep hold of an unhappy player or do you cash in on what you can get?

Fieldden was what 3 years ago, and you've mentioned 2 others, plus Tansey and Carvell, so thats 4 transfer fees in 3 or 4 years, one of which was becuase a player changed his mind an hour after signing a contract.

My point is that if Westerman has stated that he's unhappy and wants to leave would you cash in on what you could get? (which is no more than £50k IMO) or have an unhappy player at your club?

Well I'm sure many would be unhappy if the club let Briscoe leave for 80k(hypothetically).
