I also thought that it looked pretty clear that welham had 1 foot on the ground whilst he was tackled but we're talking split seconds in the decision and he certainly wasn't clearly in the air. If I was some kind of masochist I'd watch it back and come up with some decisions that went against us but I think I'll go for a dump instead

No we shouldn't - although I thought the penalty was a tad harsh given what Rovers had got away with all night. But the fact is we successfully dealt with the situation and if not for the VR would have had possession on our 20 with seconds to go.

So if you want to whine about the VR you could make a case for his one mistake handing Rovers the points and denying us a draw.

watch it again with no black & white binoculars on...worse shoulder contact gets ignored.

And how many times did he warn Poore & Weyman to get off the tackle quicker? Still allowed them to do it.

You might want to compare penalties for offside and interference before making that claim. He was equally bad for both teams and the VR got almost everything right.

Thought loveGrove call was right, on reverse angle he never has a solid handle on the ball and Jamie didn't have to work to hard for the ball.
One of the biggest calls of the night was saying whiting touched the ball. Couldn't see it myself

Funny what people see. I saw Miller looking at the oncoming defender rather than the ball. Miller soiled himself. At this point Burns should have stood still rather than attempt to murder Miller. Then they could have collided in a far more dangerous way.
As for other decisions. As I've posted elsewhere Shaul is in no way trying to get the ball when Lovegrove gets over the line. If you slow it down enough Lovegrove passes him a note too apologising for getting over the line.

Both Travis and Milky shoulder charged each other.It was only because Travis is bigger that it went against him.

Commentary was saying its a shoulder charge if his arms are down..but they wasnt..hard done to imo. it was sloppy play on the last tackle...& we was lucky it was pulled back. again my opinion.

and that was my opinion as well, no way was it a shoulder charge as his arms was up to protect himself from the impact of the oncoming player and then used said arms to push player over in one movement, it was a terrible decision by silverfool, almost as bad as the dissalowed try for hall flicking the ball back and then whiting knocking it on for rovers to ground it..would have been a try by any other team...

re childs..very questionable decisions.. cockayne goes down in a tackle and fc player falls off prior to tackle complete..ref shouts held... two minutes later exactly the same happens to an fc player and he calls play on....very very poor.

as mentioned above...welham tackle in the air, yet another bad desicion and he shoulf have gone to the screen as he was asked by the team captain to do to check it out.. the few seconds for the right decision would not of hurt the overall game, after all isn`t that one of the reasons for a video ref?.

Think we had some soft penalties given against us also. Rovers definitely milked a few. As Child's was obviously falling for it, I'm disappointed we didn't try it ourselves and just allowed us to be dominated in the tackle.
The worst was when Cockayne threw an elbow back straight into Shaul's face and they got a penalty for holding down.
Anybody else think Cockayne went very high on Yeaman (and late) after he put Talanoa in?
