Brough hardly ever played 7 for us while he was here. He was also a heavy drinker and smoked so much that he admitted himself that he couldn't train properly. Full credit to him for sorting his life out since, but it was the correct decision to let him go at the time.

I believe we'll stick with horne and long until 2012. Horne imo, deserves his last year to see if he can have an injury free run allowing him to find good form. However if we do stick as we are we'll miss an excellent kicking game that players like danny brough provides

| His first drop goal when they were ahead tonight brought back memories of 2005. After Higham's try that goal could have become the game winner.
Wonder now about Brough. Have always thought it was the right thing to get rid at the time - no questions he was part of the "beer time" cancer, but now?
We need a utility half back and he is one. We need a field kicker other than Long - he's actually better at this than Long?
Would he come back and how much is he worth. Worth investing in a transfer fee?

| all those people that want tansey out, i know a few that would have brough back. Whats good for 1 is for another. Id rather put a stop to all of it and have all the players out who like to "enjoy themselves" there is still a culture at hull as there is most teams and i dont just mean the drink

| As I've said on the VT: the major problem with Brough, quite apart from his off-field issues, is that he only "plays" in a handful of games each year, no matter which club's shirt is on his back. If he could produce that form consistently then he may well become the player he thinks he is

No, not half as much as he thinks he is, and no.
You might want to check what fans of his last two clubs think about him. Great player on his day but still a disruptive influence and a buck-chaser to boot.

| Brough has a good game and we want him back
Thorman had a good game for York...shall we have him back?
Funny how these threads never popped up when he was at Cas and Wakey.....Still behind Eastmond,Burrows,Myler,Tomkins,Maguire,Robinson in terms of international honours.

| An youngish, fit, organising scrum half with pace to burn and one of the best kicking games in SL. Don't be daft people - why on earth would we want him!
Anyone who doesn't think he'd be an asset to our current squad needs to lie down somewhere.

I'd much rather we tried a cheeky offer to crusaders for sammutt. Looks a far better, more consistent and likely much more professional than brough.
Anyway, brough hates the board at Hull so it's irrelevant what fans think of him

| Trouble with Brough is he is very hit and miss, great one week and poor the next.
I never wanted him to leave as I really liked him but we made the right decision at the time.

On Companies House website it shows Celtic Crusaders Limited status (which I'm assuming is the entity that is the current Crusaders) as "Active - Proposal to Strike Off". Not sure whether this means because the fact they've failed to file both accounts and annual returns in line with deadlines means they're in administrative trouble with Companies House or what, but when added to the other rumours of financial difficulties it can't be good news. Maybe we could help them with a transfer fee. Sammut is a genius (with a great hair and tache combo also).

| Nailed on for Rovers isnt he?
Joking aside i dont think he'd touch us again, due to the way our administration treated him.
He's not the only one who got $h!t on by the owners

| Brough for me has always been a class act and it was one of the most stupid decisions Peter Sharp ever made in getting rid of him. Imagine this team with Brough playing regularly - We'd be top three no problem and would of beaten Rovers in the play offs. Those who say he isnt any good havent got a clue

completely agree, he looks top class one week, goes missing for the next few weeks.
would walk into the current Hull side due to our lack of halves, but long-term we need a more consistent option.
as others have suggested, would a transfer fee tempt Crusaders to sell Sammut? been impressed with him so far and he's only 23.
