It won't make any difference until the players show the effort and determination needed to succeed. Lack of motivation is the biggest problem.

as I said in another thread, in 2007 we went and got Berigans signiture, in 2008 Crockers...both fantastic players, but neither were as crucial as replacing Cooke (and then Dykes)

i disgaree entirely! we only lost by 4 points! a decent halfback would have made all the difference. Stick Cooke or Dobson in Hull's side today and the game would have gone the other way due to their better kicking game alone.

Thorman was shocking today. It looked like he had something better to do, like shopping with his Mrs or washing the car.

Thought neither Dobson or Cooke were that good today (some poor kicks from Dobson in particular) but Rovers chase was 100% better than ours.

I agree we do lack a real 7. Although we have won five i dont think we have been very convincing. i think that could come down to coaching because our halves arent too bad. We need to change our style of play because sometimes we are too boring and place one up rugby, especially in areas where we can cause damage on there line. there have been too many times where we have had forwards making hit ups 10 yards to there line. its good to get us set up for the next tackle for a play or move but thats non existent. other teams in the super league look more creative then we do and i think if we changed our style or had a seven that can direct and give us options then we would be more successful. we have dangerous players like yeamo and willie manu out wide that can cause problems but we dont have flair and look too flat to create chances.

Trouble is he may sign a union one who kicks everything down field, usually into touch.

Agree Yeamo and Manu are threats but a good 7 would get the ball to them at the right time and not just at second or third drive in

We shoudl have kept Matty Head. Had someone like him played today we would have won, simple.

We have reasonable forwards who are at least competing even if they are dominating the other side and we have backs who given the oppurtunity can score alot of tries, however at the minute our halfs are letting us down a bit, not just Thorman, but Horne too.

I'll obviously get stick for this but with Briscoe out I would but Hall on the wing, Thorman at full back and Tommy Lee at 7. At least Tommy will try something different even if it doesn't always come off.

Hull's skill levels were poor today. Thorman and Horne's passing was at times dire. We tried to get the ball wide plenty of times in the 2nd half but regularly came up with errors due to poor passing.

I agree, the standard of our passing is a major concern.

It's more to do with the angles players run and lack of communication



Example late on when Berrigan tried to put Tickle through a gap but he was running the wrong line. Barrie Mac picks up on it in commentary. Also when Tickle made break and Whiting cut inside but due to no communication the pass was too far away from Whiting and he knocked on.

I have always said keep Matty Head, but i dont think Thorman is to blame for us losing when we was wining he was good eh? a kick is as only as good as its chase and we dont have the determenation to chase the ball and score, all we need to do is shift the ball and actually do something different near thier line, chip over top, kick from the scrum or kick on the 1st tackle to catch teams out.
