On the topic of Carney, I wouldn't say no to his signing. At the end of the day, if your a single guy and an attractive lady is there offering it up on a plate, there is not many men on Earth who wouldn't drop their fly and have a dabble....teammate's Mrs or not!

Might be a special case and not a regular thing. Given his off field antics it might not be wise to bring someone like that in (talented though they are) without consulting the squad as there's the potential that it could affect team morale.

Elite sportsmen and women are just the same as us, they make errors of judgement. We don't know what went on and it's none of our business anyway. I would be prepared to give Carney a second chance. For all those haughty naysayers that are hostile toward the possible signing, don't be so naive to think that he's the first professional rugby player to 'play away from home' with another player wife/girlfriend. Some of the greatest were sods off the field, my old Dad was a taxi driver ion Hull for 25 years and he could tell you some stories!

Can't see us signing him but would love it if we could. Unless cas was prepared to take maybe micheals and cash don't see how else we could pull it off. The irony of some people calling Westerman a bad egg earlier in the thread and then lauding the signing of Carney just shows them up for being the daft sods they are.

I hope your not including me in that, I don't think I've ever slated westerman for his of the field activities, far as I'm concerned a rugby player can drink 10 pints a night if they turn up match day and perform well, obviously in this age of rugby that's hard to do. I've always thought westerman is average and I'll stick by that.
