| I’d have Sutcliffe goal kicking.
Thought he was more consistent than Clifford last year.

| McMeeken to Hull was my favourite rumour of 2023. Is murmurs that he could be heading to Rovers off the back of the Abdull move.

| Always thought Abdull slightly over rated
He shined in a dire London team and was rovers best player when they were terrible
Great Kicking game and good organisater
But not much else he's slow a target defensively with his lack of pace

Clifford was a great kicker he was kicking 99% of the season so course Sutcliffe would have more consistent stats
Sutcliffe should be kicker this season

Was he, thought his goal kicking was pretty average, probably he worst part of his gane.
Not sure on his percentage, but would bet it was probably lower than alot of other kickers.

| Apparently we were very interested in Volkman, but he wouldn't have got a visa, wouldn't suprise me if he is on our radar for 2025 with the new rules if he doesn't get games at the Dragons.
Him or maybe Hawkins.

His percentage was 70.1%. Ratchford was the best in the league with 85.9%.
The below is based on any player who attempted 30 or more conversions throughout the year;
Stefan Ratchford 85.9%
Marc Sneyd 85.7%
Arthur Mourgue 85.4%
Mark Percival 85.2%
Brad Schneider 81.3%
Ben Reynolds 80.6%
Lachlan Coote 78.7%
Rhyse Martin 78.5%
Adam Keighran 78.4%
Oliver Russell 75.4%
Jake Connor 74.3%
Gareth Widdop 71.1%
Jake Clifford 70.1%
Harry Smith 65.1%
Tommy Makinson 63%
So basically Clifford was pretty poor. I seem to think he started the season and looked really good and confident but got progressively worse as the season went on (or injuries and little knocks took their toll)

Nu Brown has kicked goals throughout his career, not sure how good he is but we do have a few options. Wouldn't want Hoy, purely for his hamstring issues, but Sutcliffe or Brown would probably be the choice, for me.

| Sutcliffe was in the paper a few weeks ago saying he's put his hand up for kicking duties. I'd go with him. Always looked competent whenever I've seen him kick and he was the man to take over from Sinfield at Leeds I think. L
Unless Brown is a great kicker, it's Sutty for me.

Yes he had a good spell earlier in the season, at one point he kicked seventeen from eighteen. From May onwards though there were only two games when he didn't miss at least one goal kick.
Sutcliffe kicked thirteen from sixteen for us last season.

| When Clifford lined up for a kick I was never confident. He would just toe poke it in the general direction of the sticks and hope his power took it over. I'm amazed he managed over 70%, it felt lower.

We all now what we have done or rather not done in the last few seasons but some of us are trying at least to be positive for the upcoming season, but reading your posts over the weeks you seem to only see negatives that can't be classed as being realistic, because with a totally reformed squad (built within our means), nothing has happened yet and we haven't even played a friendly.
We're FC fans and we all look forward with some trepidation to 10-00pm on 15th February and wonder how we'll feel then. Because that's what we do! Some of us almost feel we know where we'll be then, because this is Hull FC and we've been there so many times before, but we have at least to try and be positive for now and dare I say some of us are even a bit excited about the coming season.
I'll be first to identify 'problems' and enjoy constructive questioning of the squad etc on here, even at this point in the process, but it's only conjecture at this time. We have a great coach some good youngsters a few unknown quantities, some loyal 100% club men and possibly the most passionate and vociferous fans in the game. Well that's how I see it so for now at least, bring it on.
So I guess I pose the question out of interest, without any prejudice, do you see any positives for next season at all because you don't appear to??

I used to argue with him, then bantered with him now he’s on ignore. I only read his repetitive post because you quoted him.

But it's hard to be positive
When we was awful last season
And I think signing for replacement we aren't much better
Brown good signing who replaces Clifford who's our best player
Swift hasn't been replaced
Ese ese and okunbur will be good but again they're replacing our better forwards who left
We won't go to the level whilst certain dead wood still here
15th feb is irrelevant it's about how we've done once September comes

| Seperately, I think long term relegation will be one of the best things that happened to Wakey. It allowed them to have a clear out of the players they don't want, get new owners on board and have this season to build a competitive squad for their likely return to SL in 2025, not just a squad full of panic buys to do just enough to keep them up

Signings likes of ipape, Lam in championship and then adding super league quality in likes of leutele, hardaker, obrien, charnley, Briscoe
