Lord of the Rings trilogy
The Princess Bride
Stardust
Grosse Pointe Blank
Silence of the Lambs
Equilibrium
Pan's Labyrinth
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away
The Matrix

I've left off a bunch of more recent movies I've really liked as the ones above are those I keep going back to.

I'm really surprised that in 8 pages you're the only other person to mention that film, I think it's brilliant.

It's outstanding IMO, although Stardust comes really close and has a similar tone. Plus Stardust contains Robert de Niro dancing the Can Can in a frock - not to be missed.

The amount of quality performances in small roles is just phenomenal in Princess Bride: The albino, Vizzini, Miracle Max, the clergyman, Count Rugen, it's superb. And it's got Columbo.

| Can't believe in 9 pages nobody has mentioned the Lost Boys, and I know it's aimed at kids but Puss in Boots is fantastic!
I watched a film many years ago with Donald & Keifer Sutherland in and I can't for the life of me remember its name. Basically Donald's character abducts Keifers wife at a petrol station and they end up buried alive. Anyone remember it? Must have been late 90's.

| My top five in no particular order
Citizen Kane - Orson Welles 1941 master piece.
La Regle du jeu - Jean Renior's 1939 classic possibly the greatest French film ever.
Vertigo - No list would be complete without Hitchcock and his 1958 adaptation of the
Boileau - Narcejac best seller is just about my favourite.
Raging Bull - Martin scorsese's visceral black and white drama about an aging boxer
is a pure work of art.
Lawrence of Arabia - This 1962 David Lean movie is just Epic in every sense of the
word.
Hebie goes Bannanas - Its Funny as Fook.

IMDB only has them in only 2 films together including A Time to Kill. Not sure that matches the description though
