This is the gap we have to close. We will do that with a mixture of signings and promotion of the best young players over the next 3 years. It could never be bridged over one off season. What we are seeing is years of underinvestment in the youth teams coming home to roost together with limited/no options for the few with promise. When first team players are out we don't have enough depth behind. I expect more young players to sign from other clubs to fill the gap in home grown talent. That's the way I think AP will build. 2 or 3 years minimum.

FWIW this is the first game we haven't competed in this season. It's really disappointing but we will improve as players come back and we will be better season on season. Unfortunately the youth investment wont produce results overnight but will do in time. Hull fans will need to be patient and look for the improvements to take shape.
