| The thing with this whole argument is stupid. The PL have no right to enforce anything like this on a community stadium. They could possibly force a PL team who own the stadium, Wigan, to maybe get rid of a team but not a team in a stadium such as the KC. This is just ridiculous IMO if they are serious in their thoughts and they should know that the pitch at Wigan was a disgrace not the KC’s and this was down to the weather and not the rugby.
But the main issue here is that the PL won’t be an issue as City are going to be in administration and the Championship next year.

The arrogance of the Premier League knows no bounds but not even they can strike down a legally binding lease. The only way FC would agree to leave the KC would be if they received enough money to build a new stadium. Hull City has no money and no assets against which to borrow money.
The Premier League have more chance of kicking Hull City out of the Premier League than they have of kicking FC out of the KC.

problem is, it's not big enough for Wigan, it's just about big enough for Willy Wonka's team, until he loses interest.

They won't have any jurisdiction to do anything against FC all they could do was impose a fine on City but even then I'm sure they'd not have a leg to stand on.
What they may be able to do is stop any clubs doing this from the off BUT it would be difficult as you say to break a lease should a clause not have been written in the contract to say if the team go into the Premier league then the other club would have to move out.
I hope the RL actually don’t just sit back and take this and come out and back up the clubs that are in this position.

| Won't affect us as Hull City don't own the stadium and The Premier League are not the law plus Hull City will be in the championship in four weeks anyways and will not come back up for long time.

| Not immediately relevant, but there is a story about extending the KC's capacity to 30k, with a hotel and business park in the HDM:

It'd be a hotelier or commercial property developer funding it if it did happen, I assume.

And then it'll be the same question to Rule "are we signing Paul Cooke?"
On the KC, isn't Pearson here to sell the club?

| There is little doubt discussions will be had at PL level about this issue. Teams like Everton, Man utd and others have used the state of the pitch particulalry at Wigan, as an excuse every time they have a below par performance.
What may happen as a result is that they could make a rule that would prevent any further admission to a team that ground shares. This would not immediately affect the current situation but should city or wigan or both go down, they would have to make serious adjustment plans if they ever intended getting back there.
On a more cynical note, should either team manage to stave off the dreaded relegation into undoubted oblivion, the PL and their referees may well ensure its only a stay of execution for the next year = problems solved

| So are they saying to Huddersfield, Reading. Watford.Oldham,Cardiff, Bradford city if they more to Odsal, plus any other clubs who share stadi you have no chance of the promised land. No use of Old Trafford (( they had a rugby union match there this season} or Wembley. The Rugby League i think have a user agreement there for ex number of years to.

| Quote ="Mulder"An article in the National Daily Mail claims both City and Wigan are expecting a motion at the summer meeting of the Premier league to ban dual sporting use of stadiums in the top flight. The poor state of both pitches is seen by rival clubs as been caused by them sharing the ground’s with Super League Clubs'" Hull City Council will tell them to take a running jump ..The KC Stadium was built has a Sporting Arena To be used all year round ..The Council involved Hull F C / Hull City in talk when the K C Stadium was Built ..If both teams had not agreed to play in the Stadium it would not have been built ..People should remember the Council paid Hull cash for the Boulevard as part of the deal for us to move into the K C Stadium ..Plus we have a lease and for the Council to terminate that would cost the Council a lot of money Or a new ground I cannot see them doing that

| The Premier League makes me laugh, not only are they taking the game away from the ordinary punter, but they also want to dictate what other sports do.
I hope the R.L tell them to ram it.

| What a crock of poop this story is ! if it was up to me premier league clubs in the same city should be made to ground share , ala Pool/Everton.
If not, don`t let em build another one.

| It's a non event really and has only come up because of the extra snow cover and freezing we endured this winter. This had a major effect on all pitches not just dual use ones, also as stadiums get bigger with better cover the pitches get less sun exposure which also affects growth etc.

| Given the state of the Chelsea pitch back in 2006 I can't see any credance to the viewpoint of poor pitches. Were Chelsea threatened with expulsion for the pitch condition? Not a murmer as far as I know and Chelsea played Barca in a Champions league match on it.
Even if the PL put through a rule with fines/points deduction for non compliance etc, it wouldn't have a leg to stand on from a legal enforcement POV. If the PL then decided to throw its weight about & relegate a team they would be in a world of quag.

The irony of course is that some teams who play (eventually) in the Premier League cant even compete if it is a cabbage patch or a bowling green.
