Quote ="Rocknrolla69er"Been a nosey lover on the Wigan FC cup thread over on the Wigan board, and noticed a lot of there fans bemoaning their forwards, a couple mentioned one of their youngsters called Ben Kilner saying how he should of been in the squad and given a chance as apparently he's a very good prospect. Turns out he's left for a full time job I'm assuming lack of reserve grade has forced his hand. Could be a clever option for us. Looks a big unit 6ft5 and 17st

We should be looking at getting him here for the rest of the season, with Bowden and Taylor out for another 4 weeks, he would certainly get a couple of games.

| Picking Shorrocks and Byrne doesn't automatically mean theyl perform better than him, if you read the Wigan comments about him they are really positive, at the moment we very thin on the ground for props and let's face it whos out there? I think it'd be a shrewd signing he's a big unit and a good age could be a good replacement for Matongo, playing In a defeat or looking at who he went on loan too isn't a measure of a player in my opinion. I think you get a better idea of a player reading the forums and reading fans comments and opinions.

| Obviously you would watching them live
But unknown players such as Ben , my point is you get a better idea about them reading fan forums , and opinions of fans who see a lot more of them as opposed to judging them by who they've been on loan too, I think that's a pretty reasonable point.
A good example is Satae who everyone presumed was a ten minute impact prop, but when you actually read the New Zealand Warriors forums, they actually spoke of how he had a massive engine and could play big minutes. You get a better insight sometimes. Hope that clears it up.

If that were true, half of FC’s players wouldn’t be playing for us, with the comments on here, especially Connors not a fullback, Griffin’s not a centre, Yeahman, well the mind boggles.

Are all rumoured to have either signed a new deal or spoken about a desire to stay at Hull, hopefully these will all stay along with Ma'u and Sao.
Sign a UK winger to replace Faramio and a quota prop to replace Masi.

Satae quoted in todays HDM that he is enjoying it in Hull and couldn't imaging playing anywhere else. Must be the pork and stuffing sandwiches

Reading the piece in the HDM its looks like Satae is very happy and wants to stay which is very promising, hopefully Sao will also re sign. Mau is a difficult one as undoubtedly a very good player but not shown his best though I think with BH we will certainly see a much better Mau this season and you can never tell if he's happy or not.
As for Faraimo, I like him and for me I'd have him on the wing instead of Fonua , he also looks to have worked hard on his game (tackling technique aside) in pre season, though I think we may well see him at Cas next season. We need some pace out wide other than Swift.

| Any guesses as to what Faraimo earns in comparison to Fonua as its all about getting as much from the cap as possible.
Feel abit for Fonua as I feel he's a much better centre than winger, his main strength is popping the ball out for his winger. But with Griffin and Carlos it was always abit if a waste of cap.

That’s what I heard. Lasty advised against it, but Radford didn’t want it to come back and bite him by him playing for another team.

Fonua has definitely improved recently but still not the player he was during his first spell.

Shame would have been a decent squad player, but not the end of the world.
Still think prop and wing are our priorities.
Davies looks like he is staying, so I'd look next at one of the Innes brothers.
That's unless the club thin Harvey Barron will be ready for a few games next year.

Davies would of been a good acquisition, I think he left because he wanted game time at Wigan, and as things have turned out with injuries to Manfredi and Marshall, I bet Wigan are regretting that outcome, though Bibby, and his solid performances, will have softened the blow.
We still need to give our Fijian lad a run, I’m quite excited to see what he has to offer, though with away games, and difficult fixtures looming, there’s no easy baptism for Mitch.
On a separate issue, I just get a feeling something is not quite right at the club, Allams related as usual.
And all who are finally going back to the KC on Monday, beware SBW train line crossings are shut, and Anlaby road will be terrible with traffic,
I’ve just been to the KC for my final jab, didn’t see if the train crossing closures go into next week.

Agree its a pity Davies looks to be staying in France but I'm sure the club and BH have a plan in place and will know who they want.
With regards to Mitch, I too am looking forward to seeing what he can do.
I think the traffic will be a mare regardless and couldn't believe Darren Hale stating on radio that the cycle lanes and increasing bus lane operational times which has cut the main arterial routes from two lanes to one hasn't had a detrimental affect on traffic flow in the City .
According to him its no worse and we have just forgotten it was bad before lock down, what an absolute numpty and condescending , why anyone voted for him god only knows.
Anyway off my soap box now

Darren Hale, even though he’s a southerner, he is/has been a rovers pass holder, and I’m sure he is presently orchestrating and assisting his team, try and acquire their own ground.
Whilst the council seem to be hamstrung in matters, when it concerns the bullying tactics of the Allams, in regards to the KC.
