Don't think Ganson was as bad as some are making out but Saints did seem to get the rub of the green, two decisions that no one has mentioned but I thought were really key ones.

Saints put a kick up and it bounces, Lauaki gets a hand to it and it goes back, Obst picks it up and is penalised for offside. Now Obst was in front of Lauaki when it was touched but he ran behind him and when he picked it up he was a couple of yards behind Lauaki, therefore he is onside. Saints didn't score from there but I felt it was a momentum changer.

Also really late in the game when the scores were level Saints kicked (Wilkin?) from half way and Meli was a couple of metres offside, he then tackled Whiting pretty much as soon as he caught it. Should have been a penalty roughly on halfway and we could either have had a shot at goal to try to win it or put it in the corner, driven for the posts and slotted one over.

Happened a few times that.

Regarding the 'obstruction' try . Would it have been a try if it had been a player , and not the referee , that caused the obstruction ?

I didn't think there was alot in it tbh, he made contact with Ogre but Ogre wasn't getting anywhere near Roby. If it was a player then it may have been chalked off but the ref is classed as part of the field so it's irrelevant, Ganson had to give it.

It was lost by foster and never touched Horne's hands so our srum or advantage a TRY

the way i saw it was Foster was in the act of catching the ball and Horne knocked it from his grasp,right decision for mine. The washbrook one i think he got wrong,he went to catch the ball,not tackle the player,he had as much right to penalise the saints player as washbrook.

The ball WAS in contact with Foster's hand when Horne knocked it on so the decision was right.

Sorry Besty watched it a few times now and Foster never had control of the ball and the ball was away from his hand before Horne touched it.

Totally agree with the Washbrook one he had his on the ball all the time...

Regardless of what people think about the knock on, that decision was Thaler's so Ganson can't be blamed.

Saints had two fine passes given as forward, Meli's and Roby's.

Foster clearly knocks on as does Horne, should've been Hull ball.

As for the penalty, crazy decision. Washbrook's arms indicate that without a doubt he was challenging for the ball.

And if you listen clearly a point made by Ganson himself too the Hull players

I think the fact washy never took his eyes of the ball aswell as his arms clearly indicates he was challenging for the ball..

Of course he touched it with his hand, Foster was in the process of gathering the ball and the ball was in contact with his hand when Horne knocked it forward.

The decision was correct.
