Absouloute waste of a qouta spot signing overseas wingers. Qouta places should be reserved for players who can add something extra to the whole team game that our clubs dont produce in the academys for example creative halfbacks, hookers and ball handling centres and fullbacks or explosive impact forwards. Our style of play doesnt warrant expensive qouta spot wingers. The youth should be given a chance in this area as it is one position our club has an abbudance of willing youth, lynn,tuffour, jack briscoe plus an english signing from sl or championship.

it will be intresting to see what agar does next season with regards recruitment for our backs and how we will line up. now theres obviously briscoe who would like to play centre, theres reece lynne who could really push for a starting spot on the wing and will calderwood stay for me id like to give him 1 more year but doesent look likely so surley he has a winger lined up. do you give turner a starting spot next season in centre? personally 1.tansey 2.calderwood 3.briscoe 4.yeamen

If meli is one of the form players in SL then I'm sure saints will do everything to keep him so the point is irrelevant anyway. As it is, I doubt they'll offer him the 2 year contract we probably would. How good do you think he will be at the end of the 2012 season?

Meli would be a good signing IMO. Our "exit sets" would improve and Reece can cover the 6 or 7 seven games a season he might miss through injury and ease his way into the team over the next 2 season. He'd also be good cover at Centre and add some experience to the backline. It's a win win situation for me. If anything bringing in someone like Will Sharp will actually hinder the development of Reece more than bringing Meli in.

Absolutely agree, 2 seasons learning off Meli will help Reece no end.
Our back line is very inexperienced, Yeaman aside, and with Calderwood almost certain to leave we're desperate for backs with experience.

For me we have a monster physical pack, but our backs are powderpuff. Meli would add some size and some physicality, and hopefully bring with him, as Fitz and Ogre have done, a winning mentality and culture. Let's face it he'd be amongst the best 5 wingers in SL at the moment.

Meli may be nearing the end of his career but Lyne is not ready to be a first choice yet. Meli would do a good job for us and his fitness and try scoring records are good.

He would add the bulk and experience in the three quarters that we have missed since Domic left.

Seems a strange question, but would Meli need a new Visa? He had problems at the beginning of 2009 getting back in the country. As he'd be changing employer would he have to reapply?
