I'd have rather have kept Hall to play full back than sign an Aussie utility player thats very average.

I think people are going ott regards Phelps. He looked very good in 09 aswell as 10 but he got injured and couldnt get back in due to how good Wigans backs are.

My main concern with him would be he hasnt really got a position. But hes shown at Wigan he has quality. If they had cap/quota space i think they would have re-signed him.

well,if there isn't a lot of space on the cap,then on a 1 year deal,phelps would be ok.there isn't many aussies available or willing to come over now.at leasr,he already knows super league,was playing well before he got injured,and can cover a number of positions.

Dont know if its been mentioned as im not going through 44 pages of made up stories and the like... but as HB cover; would you say Cooke would be worth a punt for a years contract? hes in no mans land and would be cheap.

it's been mentioned loads of times,and certain people on here,berated it!! rolling eyes etc!! but i did hear about a 1 year deal being offered,but honestly can't see it.not unless agar has persuaded rule otherwise.

Put it this way, if the net combination of reductions for Radford & Dowes, increases for others, is that we are at full cap again, then we are seriously overpaying some of the people who got enhanced contracts.

i don't believe there is a huge amount left on the cap.yes,players were released,but we have given improved deals to tickle,manu,whiting,houghton,and i think yeaman?.but lesser deals for dowes and radford. we have brought sharp in,but i reckon he could be on less than calderwood was on.personally,i think westerman is 60/40,and as for rovelli,i haven't a clue!!

calderwood - £70k
hall - £30k
cusack - £70k

(these may be conservative as an average SL contract is around £70k)

Now if we've spent £320k on some upgrades and will sharp then I'd be very surprised so for me there must be a chunk of cap left, particularly if dowes and radford have taken pay cuts. I doubt yeaman has got an increase either. He should have been reduced as he is no longer an international
